Genesis 19:13 records one of the most serious warnings found in the Book of Genesis. In this verse, the two heavenly messengers inform Lot that the city of Sodom is about to be destroyed because its wickedness has reached a point where divine judgment can no longer be delayed. They explain that the outcry against the city’s evil has become so great before God that He has sent them to carry out His judgment.
The phrase “For we will destroy this place” is a direct declaration that the destruction of Sodom was not going to be accidental or natural. It was an act of God’s righteous judgment. پیدائش 19:13 بائبل کی ایک نہایت اہم آیت ہے جس میں خدا کے انصاف، پاکیزگی اور رحم تینوں پہلو نمایاں طور پر سامنے آتے ہیں۔ اس آیت میں آسمانی فرشتے حضرت لوطؑ کو بتاتے ہیں کہ سدوم شہر تباہ ہونے والا ہے کیونکہ وہاں کے لوگوں کی بدکاری، ظلم اور گناہ اپنی انتہا کو پہنچ چکے ہیں۔
آیت کا آغاز ہوتا ہے:
“کیونکہ ہم اس جگہ کو تباہ کرنے والے ہیں۔”
