Genesis 21:2 describes the fulfillment of God’s promise to Abraham and Sarah. This verse records one of the most remarkable moments in biblical history: Sarah, who had been unable to have children for many years, conceived and gave birth to a son when Abraham was already very old. The birth of Isaac was not only a family blessing but also a powerful demonstration of God’s faithfulness, timing, and ability to accomplish what seems impossible.
The verse begins with the words “For Sarah conceived, and bare Abraham a son.” This statement shows that God’s promise was fulfilled exactly as He had declared. Earlier in Scripture, God promised Abraham that he would become the father of many nations and that his descendants would come through a son born from Sarah.
