Verse 5

Verse: Eluzai and Jerimoth and Bealiah and Shemariah and Shephatiah the Haruphite English Explanation: This verse continues the list of Benjamites and skilled warriors who joined David at Ziklag. These men were experts in using both the right and left hands to sling stones and shoot arrows, making them versatile assets. Urdu Explanation: یہ آیت ان بنیمینیوں اور ماہر جنگجوؤں کی فہرست کو جاری رکھتی ہے جو صقلاج میں داؤد کے ساتھ مل گئے۔ یہ لوگ غلیل چلانے اور تیر اندازی میں دونوں ہاتھوں کے استعمال کے ماہر تھے، جو انہیں میدانِ جنگ میں انتہائی مفید بناتے تھے۔


Verse 6

Verse: Elkanah and Jesiah and Azareel and Joezer and Jashobeam the Korhites English Explanation: These individuals were Korhites, descendants of Korah. Despite their ancestral history, they were recognized here for their loyalty and military contribution to David’s rising kingdom. Urdu Explanation: یہ افراد قوراہتی تھے یعنی قوراہ کی نسل سے۔ ان کے آبائی پس منظر کے باوجود، داؤد کی ابھرتی ہوئی بادشاہت کے لیے ان کی وفاداری اور فوجی خدمات کو یہاں تسلیم کیا گیا ہے۔


Verse 7

Verse: And Joelah and Zebadiah the sons of Jeroham of Gedor English Explanation: Another specific group of warriors from Gedor who showed courage by aligning with David while he was still an outlaw in the eyes of King Saul. Urdu Explanation: جدور سے تعلق رکھنے والے جنگجوؤں کا ایک اور مخصوص گروہ جنہوں نے داؤد کے ساتھ شامل ہو کر بہادری کا ثبوت دیا، جبکہ داؤد ابھی تک بادشاہ ساؤل کی نظر میں مفرور تھے۔


Verse 8

Verse: And of the Gadites there separated themselves unto David into the hold to the wilderness men of might and men of war fit for the battle that could handle shield and buckler whose faces were like the faces of lions and were as swift as the roes upon the mountains English Explanation: The Gadites were elite soldiers. This verse uses powerful metaphors: “faces of lions” signifies their fierce bravery, and “swift as roes” describes their incredible speed and agility in mountainous terrain. Urdu Explanation: جادی قبیلے کے لوگ ایلیٹ سپاہی تھے۔ یہ آیت طاقتور استعارے استعمال کرتی ہے: “ببر شیروں جیسے چہرے” ان کی شدید بہادری کو ظاہر کرتے ہیں، اور “ہرنوں جیسی تیزی” پہاڑی علاقوں میں ان کی حیرت انگیز رفتار اور چستی کو بیان کرتی ہے۔


Verses 9-13

Verses: Ezer the first Obadiah the second Eliab the third Mishmannah the fourth Jeremiah the fifth Attai the sixth Eliel the seventh Johanan the eighth Elzabad the ninth Jeremiah the tenth Machbanai the eleventh English Explanation: This section lists the eleven specific leaders of the Gadites by name and rank. It highlights the organized structure of the warriors who sought David out in the wilderness. Urdu Explanation: یہ حصہ جادیوں کے گیارہ مخصوص رہنماؤں کے نام اور رینک کے لحاظ سے فہرست پیش کرتا ہے۔ یہ ان جنگجوؤں کے منظم ڈھانچے کو نمایاں کرتا ہے جنہوں نے بیابان میں داؤد کو تلاش کیا۔


Verse 14

Verse: These were of the sons of Gad captains of the host one of the least was over an hundred and the greatest over a thousand English Explanation: This verse emphasizes the caliber of these Gadite leaders. Even the least among them had the capability to lead a hundred men, showing their immense military authority. Urdu Explanation: یہ آیت ان جادی رہنماؤں کی صلاحیتوں پر زور دیتی ہے۔ ان میں سے چھوٹے سے چھوٹا بھی سو آدمیوں کی قیادت کرنے کی صلاحیت رکھتا تھا، جو ان کے عظیم فوجی اختیار کو ظاہر کرتا ہے۔


Verse 15

Verse: These are they that went over Jordan in the first month when it had overflown all his banks and they put to flight all them of the valleys both toward the east and toward the west English Explanation: These warriors showed supernatural bravery by crossing the Jordan River during its flood stage (the first month) to reach David, defeating enemies on both sides of the valley. Urdu Explanation: ان جنگجوؤں نے دریائے یردن کو اس وقت عبور کر کے غیر معمولی بہادری دکھائی جب اس میں طغیانی آئی ہوئی تھی (پہلے مہینے میں) تاکہ وہ داؤد تک پہنچ سکیں، اور انہوں نے وادی کے دونوں اطراف کے دشمنوں کو شکست دی۔


Verse 16

Verse: And there came of the children of Benjamin and Judah to the hold unto David English Explanation: Men from Benjamin (Saul’s own tribe) and Judah came to David’s stronghold, showing that support for David was growing across tribal lines. Urdu Explanation: بنیمین (ساؤل کا اپنا قبیلہ) اور یہوداہ کے لوگ داؤد کے قلعے میں آئے، جو اس بات کی علامت تھی کہ داؤد کے لیے حمایت قبائلی حدود سے باہر بڑھ رہی تھی۔


Verse 17

Verse: And David went out to meet them and answered and said unto them If ye be come peaceably unto me to help me mine heart shall be knit unto you but if ye be come to betray me to mine enemies seeing there is no wrong in mine hands the God of our fathers look thereon and rebuke it English Explanation: David acts with caution. He asks for their sincere loyalty, calling on God as a judge to witness his innocence and protect him from betrayal. Urdu Explanation: داؤد احتیاط سے کام لیتے ہیں۔ وہ ان سے مخلصانہ وفاداری کا تقاضا کرتے ہیں، اور خدا کو بطور منصف پکارتے ہیں تاکہ وہ ان کی بے گناہی کا گواہ رہے اور انہیں دھوکہ دہی سے بچائے۔


Verse 18

Verse: Then the spirit came upon Amasai who was chief of the captains and he said Thine are we David and on thy side thou son of Jesse peace peace be unto thee and peace be to thine helpers for thy God helpeth thee Then David received them and made them captains of the band English Explanation: Inspired by the Holy Spirit, Amasai pledges absolute loyalty to David. This divine confirmation convinced David to trust them and appoint them as leaders. Urdu Explanation: روح القدس سے متاثر ہو کر، عماسا نے داؤد کے ساتھ مکمل وفاداری کا عہد کیا۔ اس خدائی تصدیق نے داؤد کو ان پر بھروسہ کرنے اور انہیں اپنا لیڈر مقرر کرنے پر قائل کر لیا۔


Verse 19

Verse: And there fell some of Manasseh to David when he came with the Philistines against Saul to battle but they helped them not for the lords of the Philistines upon advisement sent him away saying He will fall to his master Saul to the jeopardy of our heads English Explanation: Some from the tribe of Manasseh joined David just as he was about to go to war alongside the Philistines. However, the Philistine lords distrusted David and sent him back. Urdu Explanation: منسی کے قبیلے سے کچھ لوگ داؤد کے ساتھ اس وقت شامل ہوئے جب وہ فلسطینیوں کے ساتھ مل کر جنگ پر جانے والے تھے۔ تاہم، فلسطینی سرداروں نے داؤد پر اعتبار نہ کیا اور انہیں واپس بھیج دیا۔


Verse 20

Verse: As he went to Ziklag there fell to him of Manasseh Adnah and Jozabad and Jediael and Michael and Jozabad and Elihu and Zilthai captains of the thousands that were of Manasseh English Explanation: As David returned to Ziklag, several powerful commanders from Manasseh joined him, further strengthening his military force. Urdu Explanation: جب داؤد صقلاج واپس آئے تو منسی کے کئی طاقتور کمانڈر ان کے ساتھ شامل ہو گئے، جس سے ان کی فوجی طاقت مزید مضبوط ہو گئی۔


Verse 21

Verse: And they helped David against the band of the rovers for they were all mighty men of valour and were captains in the host English Explanation: These men helped David fight against raiding parties (the Amalekites who burned Ziklag). Their bravery and leadership were crucial during this crisis. Urdu Explanation: ان لوگوں نے چھاپہ مار گروہوں (عمالیقیوں جنہوں نے صقلاج کو جلایا تھا) کے خلاف داؤد کی مدد کی۔ اس بحران کے دوران ان کی بہادری اور قیادت انتہائی اہم تھی۔


Verse 22

Verse: For at that time day by day there came to David to help him until it was a great host like the host of God English Explanation: David’s army grew continually. The phrase “like the host of God” signifies that the size and power of his army were of divine proportions. Urdu Explanation: داؤد کی فوج میں مسلسل اضافہ ہوتا رہا۔ “خدا کے لشکر کی مانند” کا جملہ اس بات کی علامت ہے کہ ان کی فوج کی تعداد اور طاقت الہی تناسب کی حامل تھی۔


Verse 23

Verse: And these are the numbers of the bands that were ready armed to the war and came to David to Hebron to turn the kingdom of Saul to him according to the word of the LORD English Explanation: This shifts the focus to Hebron, where representatives from all tribes gathered to officially transfer the kingship from Saul’s house to David, fulfilling God’s prophecy. Urdu Explanation: یہاں توجہ حبرون کی طرف منتقل ہوتی ہے، جہاں تمام قبیلوں کے نمائندے جمع ہوئے تاکہ ساؤل کے خاندان سے بادشاہت داؤد کو منتقل کریں، جیسا کہ خدا نے وعدہ کیا تھا۔


Verse 24

Verse: The children of Judah that bare shield and spear were six thousand and eight hundred ready armed to the war English Explanation: Judah, David’s own tribe, provided a solid foundation of 6,800 armed warriors. Urdu Explanation: یہوداہ، جو داؤد کا اپنا قبیلہ تھا، اس نے 6,800 مسلح جنگجوؤں کی صورت میں ایک ٹھوس بنیاد فراہم کی۔


Verse 25

Verse: Of the children of Simeon mighty men of valour for the war seven thousand and one hundred English Explanation: Simeon contributed 7,100 brave soldiers, showing their commitment to David’s cause. Urdu Explanation: شمعون نے 7,100 بہادر سپاہی پیش کیے، جو داؤد کے مقصد کے لیے ان کی وابستگی کو ظاہر کرتا ہے۔


Verse 26

Verse: Of the children of Levi four thousand and six hundred English Explanation: Even the Levites, who were primarily dedicated to religious duties, provided thousands of men for this national transition. Urdu Explanation: حتیٰ کہ لاویوں نے بھی، جو بنیادی طور پر مذہبی فرائض کے لیے وقف تھے، اس قومی تبدیلی کے لیے ہزاروں آدمی فراہم کیے۔


Verse 27

Verse: And Jehoiada was the leader of the Aaronites and with him were three thousand and seven hundred English Explanation: Jehoiada led the priestly line of Aaron, showing that the religious leadership fully supported David. Urdu Explanation: یہویدع نے ہارون کی کاہن نسل کی قیادت کی، جس سے ظاہر ہوتا ہے کہ مذہبی قیادت نے داؤد کی مکمل حمایت کی۔


Verse 28

Verse: And Zadok a young man mighty of valour and of his father’s house twenty and two captains English Explanation: Zadok, who would later become a high priest, is highlighted here as a young and courageous leader. Urdu Explanation: صدوق، جو بعد میں سردار کاہن بنے، یہاں ایک نوجوان اور دلیر رہنما کے طور پر نمایاں کیے گئے ہیں۔


Verse 29

Verse: And of the children of Benjamin the kindred of Saul three thousand for hitherto the greatest part of them had kept the ward of the house of Saul English Explanation: Although Benjamin was Saul’s tribe, 3,000 joined David, though many others still remained loyal to Saul’s memory. Urdu Explanation: اگرچہ بنیمین ساؤل کا قبیلہ تھا، لیکن 3,000 لوگ داؤد کے ساتھ شامل ہوئے، حالانکہ بہت سے دوسرے اب بھی ساؤل کی یاد میں وفادار تھے۔


Verse 30

Verse: And of the children of Ephraim twenty thousand and eight hundred mighty men of valour famous throughout the house of their fathers English Explanation: Ephraim sent a large number of famous and valiant warriors, showing widespread support from the northern tribes. Urdu Explanation: افراہیم نے بڑی تعداد میں مشہور اور بہادر جنگجو بھیجے، جو شمالی قبیلوں کی طرف سے وسیع پیمانے پر حمایت کو ظاہر کرتا ہے۔


Verse 31

Verse: And of the half tribe of Manasseh eighteen thousand which were expressed by name to come and make David king English Explanation: This group from the half-tribe of Manasseh was specifically designated by name for the task of crowning David. Urdu Explanation: منسی کے آدھے قبیلے کے اس گروہ کو خاص طور پر داؤد کی تاج پوشی کے کام کے لیے نامزد کیا گیا تھا۔


Verse 32

Verse: And of the children of Issachar which were men that had understanding of the times to know what Israel ought to do the heads of them were two hundred and all their brethren were at their commandment English Explanation: The men of Issachar were unique; they possessed political and spiritual wisdom to understand the national situation and guide Israel correctly. Urdu Explanation: یساکار کے لوگ منفرد تھے؛ ان کے پاس قومی صورتحال کو سمجھنے اور اسرائیل کی صحیح رہنمائی کرنے کے لیے سیاسی اور روحانی حکمت تھی۔


Verse 33

Verse: Of Zebulun such as went forth to battle expert in war with all instruments of war fifty thousand which could keep rank they were not of double heart English Explanation: Zebulun provided the largest group yet—50,000 disciplined, fully equipped soldiers with undivided loyalty (“not of double heart”). Urdu Explanation: زبولون نے اب تک کا سب سے بڑا گروہ فراہم کیا—50,000 نظم و ضبط کے حامل، مکمل طور پر لیس سپاہی جن کی وفاداری غیر منقسم تھی (“وہ دو دلے نہ تھے”)۔
