1 Chronicles Chapter 22 (Verses 14–19)

1Ch 22:14

  • Verse: Now behold in my trouble I have prepared for the house of the LORD an hundred thousand talents of gold and a thousand thousand talents of silver and of brass and iron without weight for it is in abundance timber also and stone have I prepared and thou mayest add thereto

  • English Explanation: David highlights that despite his many wars and struggles (“trouble”), he prioritized God. He accumulated a staggering amount of precious metals and materials. He encourages Solomon to build upon this massive foundation.

  • Urdu Explanation: داؤد بیان کرتا ہے کہ اپنی تمام مصیبتوں کے باوجود اس نے خداوند کے گھر کے لیے بے پناہ سونا، چاندی، پیتل اور لوہا جمع کیا۔ اس نے لکڑی اور پتھر بھی تیار کیے اور سلیمان کو مزید اضافہ کرنے کی ترغیب دی۔

1Ch 22:15

  • Verse: Moreover there are workmen with thee in abundance hewers and workers of stone and timber and all manner of cunning men for every manner of work

  • English Explanation: Provision isn’t just about money; it’s about people. David prepared a skilled workforce, including stonemasons, carpenters, and expert craftsmen to ensure the Temple’s quality.

  • Urdu Explanation: داؤد نے نہ صرف سامان بلکہ ہنرمند کاریگر بھی فراہم کیے جن میں سنگ تراش، بڑھئی اور ہر قسم کے کام کے ماہر لوگ شامل تھے تاکہ تعمیر کا کام بہترین ہو۔

1Ch 22:16

  • Verse: Of the gold the silver and the brass and the iron there is no number Arise therefore and be doing and the LORD be with thee

  • English Explanation: The materials were so abundant they were beyond counting. David’s command is simple: “Arise and work.” He blesses Solomon with the assurance of God’s presence.

  • Urdu Explanation: سونا، چاندی اور دیگر دھاتیں اتنی زیادہ تھیں کہ ان کا شمار ممکن نہ تھا۔ داؤد نے سلیمان کو حکم دیا کہ اب اٹھو اور کام شروع کرو اور خدا تمہارے ساتھ ہو۔

1Ch 22:17

  • Verse: David also commanded all the princes of Israel to help Solomon his son saying

  • English Explanation: Leadership requires teamwork. David instructs the national leaders to fully support the young King Solomon in this divine task.

  • Urdu Explanation: داؤد نے اسرائیل کے تمام سرداروں کو حکم دیا کہ وہ اس عظیم کام میں اس کے بیٹے سلیمان کی مدد کریں۔

1Ch 22:18

  • Verse: Is not the LORD your God with you and hath he not given you rest on every side for he hath given the inhabitants of the land into mine hand and the land is subdued before the LORD and before his people

  • English Explanation: David reminds the leaders that God has granted them peace and victory over their enemies, removing any distractions from the construction of the Temple.

  • Urdu Explanation: داؤد نے یاد دلایا کہ خدا نے انہیں ہر طرف سے امن عطا کیا ہے اور دشمنوں پر فتح دی ہے، لہذا اب وقت ہے کہ وہ خدا کے گھر پر توجہ دیں۔

1Ch 22:19

  • Verse: Now set your heart and your soul to seek the LORD your God arise therefore and build ye the sanctuary of the LORD God to bring the ark of the covenant of the LORD and the holy vessels of God into the house that is to be built to the name of the LORD

  • English Explanation: The focus shifts from physical preparation to spiritual readiness. He urges them to seek God with their whole being as they build the permanent home for the Ark of the Covenant.

  • Urdu Explanation: اس نے ان پر زور دیا کہ وہ اپنے دل و جان سے خدا کے طالب ہوں اور مقدس کی تعمیر کریں تاکہ عہد کا صندوق اور پاک برتن وہاں رکھے جا سکیں۔

1 Chronicles Chapter 23 (Verses 1–23)

1Ch 23:1

  • Verse: So when David was old and full of days he made Solomon his son king over Israel

  • English Explanation: Recognizing his life was ending, David ensured a peaceful transition of power by officially crowning Solomon.

  • Urdu Explanation: جب داؤد بوڑھا ہو گیا تو اس نے اپنی زندگی ہی میں اپنے بیٹے سلیمان کو اسرائیل کا بادشاہ بنا دیا۔

1Ch 23:2

  • Verse: And he gathered together all the princes of Israel with the priests and the Levites

  • English Explanation: David convened a national assembly to organize the religious and civil administration of the kingdom.

  • Urdu Explanation: داؤد نے اسرائیل کے تمام سرداروں، کاہنوں اور لاویوں کو جمع کیا تاکہ انتظام کو ترتیب دیا جائے۔

1Ch 23:3

  • Verse: Now the Levites were numbered from the age of thirty years and upward and their number by their polls man by man was thirty and eight thousand

  • English Explanation: A census was taken of the Levites aged 30 and older, totaling 38,000 men dedicated to God’s service.

  • Urdu Explanation: لاویوں کی مرد شماری کی گئی اور تیس سال یا اس سے زائد عمر کے اڑتیس ہزار مرد خدمت کے لیے چنے گئے۔

1Ch 23:4

  • Verse: Of which twenty and four thousand were to set forward the work of the house of the LORD and six thousand were officers and judges

  • English Explanation: Out of the total, 24,000 supervised the Temple work, while 6,000 handled civil and legal matters.

  • Urdu Explanation: ان میں سے چوبیس ہزار ہیکل کے کام کی نگرانی کے لیے اور چھ ہزار عہدیدار اور قاضی مقرر کیے گئے۔

1Ch 23:5

  • Verse: Moreover four thousand were porters and four thousand praised the LORD with the instruments which I made said David to praise therewith

  • English Explanation: 4,000 served as gatekeepers and 4,000 were musicians dedicated to praising God with instruments David had specifically designed.

  • Urdu Explanation: چار ہزار دربان تھے اور چار ہزار ان سازوں کے ساتھ جو داؤد نے بنائے تھے، خداوند کی حمد کرنے کے لیے مقرر ہوئے۔

  • Verse: And David divided them into courses among the sons of Levi namely Gershon Kohath and Merari

  • English Explanation: David organized the Levites into groups based on their ancestral lines to ensure orderly service in the Temple.

  • Urdu Explanation: داؤد نے لاوی کے بیٹوں جیرشون، قہات اور مراری کے خاندانوں کے مطابق ان کی گروہ بندی کی۔

  • Verse Excerpt: Of the Gershonites were Laadan and Shimei… these four were the sons of Shimei

1Ch 23:18-20 (Other Kohathites)
