2 Chronicles 26:13

  • Verse: And Uzziah prepared for them throughout all the host shields and spears and helmets and habergeons and bows and slings to cast stones

  • English Explanation: King Uzziah did not just rely on numbers; he invested heavily in military technology and protective gear. He provided body armor (habergeons), shields, and long-range weapons for the entire army, showing a structured approach to state defense.

  • Urdu Explanation: شاہ عزیاہ نے صرف تعداد پر بھروسہ نہیں کیا بلکہ فوج کو جدید اور بہترین ہتھیار فراہم کیے۔ اس نے ڈھالیں، نیزے، خود (ہیلمٹ)، زرہ بکتر، کمانیں اور پتھر پھینکنے والے فلاخن تیار کروائے تاکہ فوج ہر طرح سے لیس ہو۔

  • Verse: And he made in Jerusalem engines invented by cunning men to be on the towers and upon the bulwarks to shoot arrows and great stones withal And his name spread far abroad for he was marvellously helped till he was strong

  • English Explanation: Jerusalem became a center of ancient engineering marvels, constructing early mechanical artillery to shoot large stones and arrows. Uzziah’s fame spread because God’s divine favor granted him rapid prosperity and strength.

  • Urdu Explanation: یروشلم میں ایسے مشینی آلات تیار کیے گئے جو برجوں سے بڑے پتھر اور تیر برسا سکتے تھے۔ عزیاہ کی شہرت دور دور تک پھیل گئی کیونکہ خدا کی خاص مدد کے ذریعے وہ ایک انتہائی طاقتور بادشاہ بن چکا تھا۔

  • Verse: But when he was strong his heart was lifted up to his destruction for he transgressed against the LORD his God and went into the temple of the LORD to burn incense upon the altar of incense

  • English Explanation: This is the tragic turning point. Pride overtook Uzziah. Arrogance led him to overstep his royal boundaries and enter the Holy Place to burn incense—a sacred duty reserved strictly for the Levite priests.

  • Urdu Explanation: یہ عزیاہ کی زندگی کا سب سے تاریک موڑ ہے۔ طاقتور بننے کے بعد وہ غرور میں مبتلا ہو گیا۔ اس نے اپنی حدود سے تجاوز کیا اور ہیکل میں جا کر خوشبو جلانے کی کوشش کی، جو کہ صرف کاہنوں کا حق تھا۔

  • Verse: And Azariah the priest went in after him and with him fourscore priests of the LORD that were valiant men

  • English Explanation: High Priest Azariah demonstrated immense spiritual and physical courage. Recognizing the king’s spiritual violation, he led eighty brave priests into the temple to confront the absolute ruler of the land.

  • Urdu Explanation: عزیاہ کاہن نے شدید روحانی دلیری کا مظاہرہ کیا۔ وہ بادشاہ کے پیچھے ہیکل میں داخل ہوا اور اس کے ساتھ اسی (80) ایسے کاہن تھے جو خدا کے کلام پر قائم رہنے والے نڈر اور بہادر مرد تھے۔

  • Verse: And they withstood Uzziah the king and said unto him It appertaineth not unto thee Uzziah to burn incense unto the LORD but to the priests the sons of Aaron that are consecrated to burn incense go out of the sanctuary for thou hast trespassed neither shall it be for thine honour from the LORD God

  • English Explanation: The priests firmly rebuked King Uzziah, informing him that only Aaron’s descendants were consecrated for this specific ministry. They commanded him to leave the sanctuary, warning him that his pride would strip him of honor.

  • Urdu Explanation: کاہنوں نے بادشاہ کا ڈٹ کر مقابلہ کیا اور کہا کہ اے عزیاہ! خوشبو جلانا تیرا کام نہیں بلکہ ہارون کی نسل کے کاہنوں کا کام ہے۔ ہیکل سے باہر نکل جا کیونکہ تو نے گناہ کیا ہے اور اس سے خدا کی طرف سے تیری عزت نہیں ہوگی۔


2 Chronicles 26:19

  • Verse: Then Uzziah was wroth and had a censer in his hand to burn incense and while he was wroth with the priests the leprosy even rose up in his forehead before the priests in the house of the LORD from beside the incense altar

  • English Explanation: Instead of repenting, Uzziah became furious. At that exact moment of defiance, divine judgment struck him instantly. Leprosy broke out on his forehead right next to the altar of incense, visible to all.

  • Urdu Explanation: عزیاہ شرمندگی کے بجائے غصے سے بھر گیا۔ جب وہ کاہنوں پر غصہ کر رہا تھا، اسی لمحے خدا کا غضب نازل ہوا اور بخور کے مذبح کے پاس ہی اس کی پیشانی پر کوڑھ (لوکل بیماری) ظاہر ہو گئی۔

  • Verse: And Azariah the chief priest and all the priests looked upon him and behold he was leprous in his forehead and they thrust him out from thence yea himself hasted also to go out because the LORD had smitten him

  • English Explanation: Seeing the clear sign of God’s curse, the priests rushed him out of the holy place to prevent defilement. Compelled by terror and realizing God had judged him, Uzziah himself rushed out.

  • Urdu Explanation: جب سردار کاہن اور دیگر کاہنوں نے اس کے ماتھے پر کوڑھ دیکھا تو انہوں نے اسے فوراً وہاں سے نکالا۔ عزیاہ خود بھی خوف کے مارے باہر بھاگا کیونکہ وہ سمجھ گیا تھا کہ خداوند نے اسے سزا دی ہے۔


2 Chronicles 26:21

  • Verse: And Uzziah the king was a leper unto the day of his death and dwelt in a several house being a leper for he was cut off from the house of the LORD and Jotham his son was over the king’s house judging the people of the land

  • Explanation: Uzziah spent the remainder of his life isolated in a separate house, banned from entering the temple of the Lord. His son Jotham took over administrative and judicial responsibilities, serving as co-regent.

  • Urdu Explanation: شاہ عزیاہ اپنی موت کے دن تک کوڑھی رہا اور الگ گھر میں زندگی گزاری۔ وہ خدا کے گھر سے محروم کر دیا گیا اور اس کے بیٹے یوتام نے شاہی محل کے انتظامات سنبھالے اور لوگوں کا انصاف کرنے لگا۔

  • Verse: Now the rest of the acts of Uzziah first and last did Isaiah the prophet the son of Amoz write

  • English Explanation: This historical note reveals that Isaiah the prophet kept a meticulous biographical account of King Uzziah’s long reign, including both his early successes and his ultimate downfall.

  • Urdu Explanation: اس آیت میں ایک تاریخی حوالہ ملتا ہے کہ عزیاہ کے شروع سے لے کر آخر تک کے تمام کاموں اور حالات کو یسعیاہ نبی بن اموص نے اپنی کتاب میں قلمبند کیا۔

  • Verse: So Uzziah slept with his fathers and they buried him with his fathers in the field of the burial which belonged to the kings for they said He is a leper and Jotham his son reigned in his stead

  • English Explanation: Uzziah died and was buried near the royal tombs, but kept at a distance in an adjacent field because his leprosy made him ceremonially unclean even in death. His son Jotham officially began his sole reign.

  • Urdu Explanation: آخرکار عزیاہ مر گیا اور اسے اس کے باپ دادا کے پاس بادشاہوں کے قبرستان کے ساتھ والے کھیت میں دفن کیا گیا کیونکہ وہ کوڑھی تھا۔ اس کے بعد اس کا بیٹا یوتام تخت پر بیٹھا۔

  • Verse: Jotham was twenty and five years old when he began to reign and he reigned sixteen years in Jerusalem His mother’s name also was Jerushah the daughter of Zadok

  • English Explanation: Chapter 27 introduces the reign of King Jotham. Ascending the throne at age 25, he ruled for 16 years. His lineage is tied to Zadok, a respected priestly family line.

  • Urdu Explanation: باب 27 میں شاہ یوتام کے دور کا آغاز ہوتا ہے۔ وہ پچیس برس کی عمر میں بادشاہ بنا اور سولہ سال حکومت کی۔ اس کی ماں یروشہ تھی جو زادوق کاہن کی بیٹی تھی۔


2 Chronicles 27:2

  • Verse: And he did that which was right in the sight of the LORD according to all that his father Uzziah did howbeit he entered not into the temple of the LORD And the people did yet corruptly

  • English Explanation: Jotham followed his father’s good traits but learned from his mistakes; he carefully avoided entering the temple unlawfully. Despite his good leadership, the common people continued their corrupt, idolatrous practices.

  • Urdu Explanation: یوتام نے خدا کی نظر میں وہی کیا جو ٹھیک تھا۔ اس نے اپنے باپ کے اچھے کاموں کی پیروی کی لیکن اس کی غلطی سے سیکھتے ہوئے ہیکل میں مداخلت نہیں کی۔ تاہم، عوام گناہ اور بت پرستی میں مبتلا رہی۔

  • Verse: He built the high gate of the house of the LORD and on the wall of Ophel he built much

  • English Explanation: Jotham focused on infrastructure and religious honoring. He renovated the temple’s Upper Gate and reinforced the regional fortifications along the Ophel wall in Jerusalem.

  • Urdu Explanation: یوتام نے تعمیری کاموں پر توجہ دی۔ اس نے خداوند کے گھر کا اونچا پھاٹک بنوایا اور عوفل کی دیوار کو مزید مضبوط اور وسیع کیا۔

  • Verse: Moreover he built cities in the mountains of Judah and in the forests he built castles and towers

  • English Explanation: To secure Judah against foreign threats, Jotham engaged in extensive regional development, building fortified cities in the hill country and defensive outposts in forested areas.

  • Urdu Explanation: اس نے یہوداہ کے پہاڑی علاقوں میں نئے شہر آباد کیے اور جنگلوں میں قلعے اور برج بنوائے تاکہ ملک بیرونی حملوں سے محفوظ رہ سکے۔


2 Chronicles 27:5

  • Verse: He fought also with the king of the Ammonites and prevailed against them And the children of Ammon gave him the same year an hundred talents of silver and ten thousand measures of wheat and ten thousand of barley So much did the children of Ammon pay unto him both the second year and the third

  • English Explanation: Jotham asserted military dominance over the Ammonites. As a result, they were forced to pay a heavy annual tribute of silver, wheat, and barley for three consecutive years.

  • Verse: So Jotham became mighty because he prepared his ways before the LORD his God

  • Verse: And Jotham slept with his fathers and they buried him in the city of David and Ahaz his son reigned in his stead

2 Chronicles 28:1

  • Verse: Ahaz was twenty years old when he began to reign and he reigned sixteen years in Jerusalem but he did not that which was right in the sight of the LORD like David his father

  • English Explanation: Chapter 28 marks a dark era. King Ahaz took power at age 20, but completely rejected his father Jotham’s righteous legacy. Instead, he chose a path of wicked idolatry, failing to follow the model of King David.

  • Urdu Explanation: باب 28 ایک تاریک دور کا آغاز کرتا ہے۔ آخز بیس سال کی عمر میں بادشاہ بنا لیکن اس نے اپنے باپ کے برعکس خدا کی نافرمانی کی راہ چنی اور داؤد کی طرح راستبازی پر نہ چلا۔
