2 Samuel 3:4-5

Verse: And the fourth Adonijah the son of Haggith and the fifth Shephatiah the son of Abital And the sixth Ithream by Eglah Davids wife These were born to David in Hebron English: These verses complete the list of David’s six sons born during his seven-year reign in Hebron. Each son was born to a different wife, showcasing the growing size and complexity of David’s household. Urdu: ان آیات میں داؤد کے ان چھ بیٹوں کی فہرست مکمل ہوتی ہے جو حبرون میں پیدا ہوئے۔ ہر بیٹا الگ بیوی سے تھا جو داؤد کے خاندان کی وسعت کو ظاہر کرتا ہے۔

2 Samuel 3:6-7

Verse: And it came to pass while there was war between the house of Saul and the house of David that Abner made himself strong for the house of Saul And Saul had a concubine whose name was Rizpah the daughter of Aiah and Ish-bosheth said to Abner Wherefore hast thou gone in unto my fathers concubine English: As the civil war continued, Abner became the real power behind Saul’s throne. However, a conflict arose when Ish-bosheth (Saul’s son) accused Abner of sleeping with Saul’s concubine, an act that was seen as a claim to the throne. Urdu: جب خانہ جنگی جاری تھی، ابنیر ساؤل کے گھرانے میں طاقتور بن گیا۔ تنازعہ تب شروع ہوا جب اشبوست نے ابنیر پر ساؤل کی حرم کے ساتھ تعلق کا الزام لگایا، جسے تخت پر قبضے کی کوشش سمجھا جاتا تھا۔

2 Samuel 3:8-10

Verse: Then was Abner very wroth for the words of Ish-bosheth and said Am I a dogs head which against Judah do shew kindness this day unto the house of Saul thy father… To translate the kingdom from the house of Saul and to set up the throne of David over Israel English: Offended by the accusation, Abner declared he would no longer support Saul’s house. He recognized that God had already sworn the kingdom to David and vowed to help transfer power to him. Urdu: ابنیر اس الزام پر سخت غصے میں آ گیا اور اعلان کیا کہ وہ اب ساؤل کے گھرانے کی حمایت نہیں کرے گا۔ اس نے تسلیم کیا کہ خدا نے بادشاہت داؤد کے لیے مقرر کی ہے اور اب وہ داؤد کی مدد کرے گا۔

2 Samuel 3:11-12

Verse: And he could not answer Abner a word again because he feared him And Abner sent messengers to David on his behalf saying Whose is the land saying also Make thy league with me and behold my hand shall be with thee English: Ish-bosheth was too intimidated by Abner to respond. Meanwhile, Abner reached out to David to strike a political deal to unite Israel under David’s rule. Verse: And he said Well I will make a league with thee but one thing I require of thee… Thou shalt not see my face except thou first bring Michal Sauls daughter… And her husband went with her along weeping behind her to Bahurim Then said Abner unto him Go return And he returned English: David agreed but demanded the return of his first wife, Michal. Ish-bosheth took her from her current husband, Paltiel, who followed her weeping until Abner ordered him to turn back. Urdu: داؤد نے معاہدہ قبول کیا لیکن اپنی پہلی بیوی میکل کی واپسی کا مطالبہ کیا۔ اشبوست نے اسے اس کے شوہر پلتی ایل سے چھین لیا جو روتا ہوا اس کے پیچھے آیا لیکن ابنیر نے اسے واپس بھیج دیا۔

2 Samuel 3:17-19

Verse: And Abner had communication with the elders of Israel saying Ye sought for David in times past to be king over you Now then do it… And Abner also spake in the ears of Benjamin English: Abner campaigned among the elders of Israel and the tribe of Benjamin, reminding them that they had previously wanted David as king and that David was God’s chosen deliverer. Urdu: ابنیر نے اسرائیل کے بزرگوں اور بنیمین کے قبیلے کو قائل کیا کہ وہ داؤد کو بادشاہ تسلیم کر لیں، کیونکہ خدا نے داؤد ہی کو نجات دہندہ چنا تھا۔

Verse: So Abner came to David to Hebron and twenty men with him And David made Abner and the men that were with him a feast… And David sent Abner away and he went in peace English: Abner visited David in Hebron with twenty men. After a feast to seal the alliance, David sent him away safely to begin the process of uniting the nation. 2 Samuel 3:22-25

Verse: And Behold the servants of David and Joab came from pursuing a troop… When Joab and all the host that was with him were come they told Joab saying Abner the son of Ner came to the king… Then Joab came to the king and said What hast thou done English: Joab returned from a raid and was furious to find that David had let Abner go. He accused Abner of being a spy who came only to deceive David. Urdu: یوآب جب ایک مہم سے واپس آیا تو اسے پتہ چلا کہ داؤد نے ابنیر کو جانے دیا ہے۔ وہ غصے میں آ گیا اور داؤد سے کہا کہ ابنیر صرف جاسوسی کرنے آیا تھا۔

2 Samuel 3:26-27

Verse: And when Joab was come out from David he sent messengers after Abner… And when Abner was returned to Hebron Joab took him aside in the gate to speak with him quietly and smote him there under the fifth rib that he died for the blood of Asahel his brother English: Without David’s knowledge, Joab lured Abner back to Hebron. Under the pretense of a private talk, Joab murdered him to avenge the death of his brother Asahel, whom Abner had killed in battle.
