Daniel 4:31

  While the word was in the king’s mouth there fell a voice from heaven saying O king Nebuchadnezzar to thee it is spoken The kingdom is departed from thee

• English Explanation: This verse marks the exact moment divine judgment is executed upon King Nebuchadnezzar for his extreme arrogance. While he is actively boasting about his power and magnificent kingdom the heavenly sentence falls immediately. • Urdu Explanation (اردو تشریح): یہ آیت راجہ نبوکدنضر کے تکبر پر الٰہی انصاف کے اچانک نازل ہونے کو ظاہر کرتی ہے۔ ابھی وہ اپنی طاقت اور سلطنت کی تعریف کر ہی رہا تھا کہ آسمان سے آواز آئی۔ خدا نے ثابت کیا کہ انسانی بادشاہت اور غرور کی کوئی اوقات نہیں ہے اور جب انسان حد سے بڑھتا ہے تو اس کی بادشاہت ایک پل میں واپس لی جا سکتی ہے۔

Daniel 4:32

  And they shall drive thee from men and thy dwelling shall be with the beasts of the field they shall make thee to eat grass as oxen and seven times shall pass over thee until thou know that the most High ruleth in the kingdom of men and giveth it to whomsoever he will

Daniel 4:33

  The same hour was the thing fulfilled upon Nebuchadnezzar and he was driven from men and did eat grass as oxen and his body was wet with the dew of heaven till his hairs were grown like eagles’ feathers and his nails like birds’ claws

• Urdu Explanation (اردو تشریح): خدا کی پیشگوئی اسی گھڑی پوری ہو گئی۔ ایک عظیم بادشاہ دیکھتے ہی دیکھتے جنگلی جانور کی مانند بن گیا۔ اس کے بال عقاب کے پروں کی طرح اور ناخن پرندوں کے چنگل کی طرح بڑھ گئے۔ یہ اس بات کی علامت ہے کہ خدا کی رحمت کے بغیر انسان کی ظاہری شان و شوکت کتنی جلدی ختم ہو سکتی ہے۔

Daniel 4:34

• Verse Text:

  And at the end of the days I Nebuchadnezzar lifted up mine eyes unto heaven and mine understanding returned unto me and I blessed the most High and I praised and honoured him that liveth for ever whose dominion is an everlasting dominion and his kingdom is from generation to generation

• Urdu Explanation (اردو تشریح): مقررہ وقت ختم ہونے پر نبوکدنضر نے اپنی نظریں آسمان کی طرف اٹھائیں یعنی اپنی عاجزی کا اعتراف کیا۔ جیسے ہی اس نے خدا کی حاکمیت کو تسلیم کیا اس کی عقل واپس آ گئی۔ اس نے اپنی تعریف کرنے کے بجائے اب سچے دل سے اس ابدی خدا کی حمد و ثنا کی جس کی بادشاہت ہمیشہ قائم رہنے والی ہے۔

Daniel 4:35

• Verse Text:

  And all the inhabitants of the earth are reputed as nothing and he doeth according to his will in the army of heaven and among the inhabitants of the earth and none can stay his hand or say unto him What doest thou

• English Explanation: Nebuchadnezzar reflects deeply on the absolute sovereignty of God. He admits that all human power combined equates to nothing compared to the divine order. God executes His ultimate will across both spiritual realms (the army of heaven) and historical human events with absolute authority that no mortal can challenge or question.

• Urdu Explanation (اردو تشریح): یہاں راجہ خدا کی مطلق طاقت کا اعتراف کرتا ہے۔ وہ کہتا ہے کہ زمین کے تمام رہنے والوں کی حیثیت خدا کے سامنے کچھ بھی نہیں ہے۔ وہ آسمانی لشکروں اور زمین کے انسانوں میں اپنی مرضی کے مطابق کام کرتا ہے اور کوئی بھی اس کا ہاتھ روکنے یا اس پر اعتراض کرنے کی طاقت نہیں رکھتا۔

Daniel 4:36

• Verse Text:

  At the same time my reason returned unto me and for the glory of my kingdom mine honour and brightness returned unto me and my counsellers and my lords sought unto me and I was established in my kingdom and excellent majesty was added unto me

• Urdu Explanation (اردو تشریح): سچی عاجزی کے بعد جب راجہ کی عقل لوٹ آئی تو خدا نے اسے دوبارہ عزت اور جاہ و جلال سے نوازا۔ اس کے درباری اور مشیر دوبارہ اس کے پاس مشورے کے لیے آنے لگے اور اسے نہ صرف اپنی پرانی سلطنت واپس ملی بلکہ اس کی عظمت پہلے سے بھی زیادہ بڑھ گئی۔

Daniel 4:37

• Verse Text:

  Now I Nebuchadnezzar praise and extol and honour the King of heaven all whose works are truth and his ways judgment and those that walk in pride he is able to abase

Chapter 5

Daniel 5:1

  Belshazzar the king made a great feast to a thousand of his lords and drank wine before the thousand

• English Explanation: Chapter 5 fast-forwards several decades to a new ruler, Belshazzar. He holds a massive, decadent banquet for his top political and military leaders. This event highlights his reckless and complacent nature, as historical context notes that the city of Babylon was actually surrounded by enemy armies during this very party.

• Urdu Explanation (اردو تشریح): یہاں سے پانچواں باب شروع ہوتا ہے جہاں کئی سالوں بعد ایک نیا راجہ بلشضر منظر عام پر آتا ہے۔ وہ اپنے ہزار امیروں کے لیے ایک عظیم اور عیاشانہ دعوت کا اہتمام کرتا ہے۔ یہ اس کی لاپرواہی اور غفلت کو ظاہر کرتا ہے کیونکہ تاریخی حقائق کے مطابق اس وقت بابل شہر باہر سے دشمن کی فوج کے محاصرے میں تھا۔

Daniel 5:2

  Belshazzar whiles he tasted the wine commanded to bring the golden and silver vessels which his father Nebuchadnezzar had taken out of the temple which was in Jerusalem that the king and his princes his wives and his concubines might drink therein

He demands the sacred temple vessels plundered from Jerusalem by his predecessor to be used as ordinary party cups. Daniel 5:3

• Verse Text:

  Then they brought the golden vessels that were taken out of the temple of the house of God which was at Jerusalem and the king and his princes his wives and his concubines drank in them

• English Explanation: The royal servants comply with the secular order bringing out the sacred components of the temple. The elite crowd intentionally desecrates items dedicated strictly to holy temple worship using them to facilitate a night of carnal indulgence and drunken revelry.

Daniel 5:4

• Verse Text:

  They drank wine and praised the gods of gold and of silver of brass of iron of wood and of stone

• English Explanation: This verse captures the peak of Babylon’s corporate idolatry. While actively misusing the vessels of the Living God they sing praises to inanimate idols constructed of everyday natural resources. This sets up a profound spiritual conflict between lifeless false gods and the sovereign creator.

• Urdu Explanation (اردو تشریح): وہ شراب پیتے گئے اور ساتھ ہی ساتھ سونے چاندی پیتل لوہے لکڑی اور پتھر کے بنے ہوئے بے جان بتوں کی تعریفیں کرتے رہے۔ یہ حقیقی خدا کی توہین کا عروج تھا جہاں پاک برتنوں کو جھوٹے معبودوں کی پوجا کے لیے استعمال کیا جا رہا تھا۔

Daniel 5:5

• Verse Text:

  In the same hour came forth fingers of a man’s hand and wrote over against the candlestick upon the plaister of the wall of the king’s palace and the king saw the part of the hand that wrote

• English Explanation: Divine intervention strikes without warning right in the middle of their celebration. A mysterious disembodied human hand emerges and carves an unreadable inscription onto the lit palace wall. This supernatural event shatters the illusion of safety and brings immediate terror to the party.

• Urdu Explanation (اردو تشریح): اسی عیاشی کے دوران خدا کی طرف سے اچانک مداخلت ہوئی۔ ایک غیبی ہاتھ کی انگلیاں نمودار ہوئیں اور انہوں نے محل کی دیوار پر کچھ الفاظ لکھنا شروع کر دیے۔ راجہ نے خود اس لکھنے والے ہاتھ کو دیکھا جس سے محفل میں موجود ہر شخص دنگ رہ گیا۔

Daniel 5:6

• Verse Text:

  Then the king’s countenance was changed and his thoughts troubled him so that the joints of his loins were loosed and his knees smote one against another

• English Explanation: The arrogant king is instantly reduced to absolute physical terror. His royal confidence evaporates completely. The language vividly describes his extreme physiological reaction—his face turns pale his mind panics and his body shakes so severely that his legs give out beneath him.

• Urdu Explanation (اردو تشریح): مغرور راجہ کا چہرہ خوف کے مارے پیلا پڑ گیا اور وہ شدید پریشانی میں مبتلا ہو گیا۔ اس کا سارا شاہی رعب ختم ہو گیا اور وہ اس قدر کانپنے لگا کہ اس کے گھٹنے خوف کے مارے ایک دوسرے سے ٹکرانے لگے۔

Daniel 5:7

• Verse Text:

  The king cried aloud to bring in the astrologers the Chaldeans and the soothsayers And the king spake and said to the wise men of Babylon Whosoever shall read this writing and shew me the interpretation thereof shall be clothed with scarlet and have a chain of gold about his neck and shall be the third ruler in the kingdom

• English Explanation: Out of sheer desperation the panicked king calls upon his staff of occult advisors and wise men. He offers immense rewards including elite royal clothing symbols of nobility and the political rank of third ruler in the entire empire to anyone who can decode the mysterious message.

• Urdu Explanation (اردو تشریح): خوفزدہ راجہ نے اونچی آواز میں چلا کر سلطنت کے تمام جادوگروں اور نجومیوں کو بلایا۔ اس نے اعلان کیا کہ جو کوئی بھی اس لکھی ہوئی عبارت کو پڑھے گا اور اس کا مطلب بتائے گا اسے ارغوانی لباس اور سونے کا ہار دیا جائے گا اور وہ سلطنت کا تیسرا بڑا حاکم بنے گا۔

Daniel 5:8

• Verse Text:

  Then came in all the king’s wise men but they could not read the writing nor make known to the king the interpretation thereof

• English Explanation: Just as in the earlier days of Nebuchadnezzar the pagan scholars and secular academic institutions of Babylon prove entirely useless when dealing with a message generated by the true God. They fail to even decipher the core text let alone explain its meaning.

• Urdu Explanation (اردو تشریح): بابل کے تمام دانا اور نجومی جمع تو ہو گئے لیکن وہ نہ تو اس تحریر کو پڑھ سکے اور نہ ہی راجہ کو اس کا مطلب سمجھا سکے۔ یہ اس بات کا ثبوت تھا کہ خدا کے بھیدوں کو دنیاوی عقل سے نہیں سمجھا جا سکتا۔

Daniel 5:9

• Verse Text:

  Then was king Belshazzar greatly troubled and his countenance was changed in him and his lords were astonied

• English Explanation: The failure of his trusted wise men elevates the king’s dread to a whole new level. The growing fear begins spreading quickly through the royal hall infecting the thousand noble lords who are now left astonished bewildered and completely helpless.

• Urdu Explanation (اردو تشریح): جب تمام دانا ناکام ہو گئے تو راجہ بلشضر کا خوف مزید بڑھ گیا اور اس کی حالت خراب ہو گئی۔ اس محفل میں موجود تمام امیر اور وزراء بھی حیران و پریشان ہو کر رہ گئے کہ اب کیا بنے گا۔

Daniel 5:10

• Verse Text:

  Now the queen by reason of the words of the king and his lords came into the banquet house and the queen spake and said O king live for ever let not thy thoughts trouble thee nor let thy countenance be changed

• English Explanation: Hearing the ongoing commotion and panic inside the banquet hall the Queen Mother (likely a daughter of Nebuchadnezzar) enters the room. She attempts to calm the chaotic situation by offering respectful reassurance and advising the trembling king not to lose control of his senses.

• Urdu Explanation (اردو تشریح): محل میں مچنے والی اس ہلچل کی آواز سن کر ملکہ (جو غالباً نبوکدنضر کی بیٹی تھی) ہال میں آئی۔ اس نے راجہ کو تسلی دی اور کہا کہ اے بادشاہ ہمیشہ زندہ رہے تو اپنے دل کو چھوٹا نہ کر اور نہ ہی اتنا خوفزدہ ہو کیونکہ اس الجھن کا ایک حل موجود ہے۔

Daniel 5:11

• Verse Text:

  There is a man in thy kingdom in whom is the spirit of the holy gods and in the days of thy father light and understanding and wisdom like the wisdom of the gods was found in him whom the king Nebuchadnezzar thy father the king I say thy father made master of the magicians astrologers Chaldeans and soothsayers
