Deuteronomy 1:25
Verse: And they took of the fruit of the land in their hands and brought it down unto us and brought us word again and said It is a good land which the LORD our God doth give us English Explanation: The spies returned from Canaan with physical evidence of its fertility. Their initial report confirmed that God’s promise was true and the land was indeed “flowing with milk and honey.” Urdu Explanation: جاسوسوں نے اس سرزمین کا پھل اپنے ہاتھوں میں لیا اور ہمارے پاس لے آئے اور یہ خبر دی کہ وہ ملک بہت اچھا ہے جو خداوند ہمارا خدا ہمیں دے رہا ہے۔ اس سے ثابت ہوا کہ خدا کا وعدہ سچا تھا۔
Deuteronomy 1:26
Verse: Notwithstanding ye would not go up but rebelled against the commandment of the LORD your God English Explanation: Despite the positive evidence of the land’s goodness, the people refused to move forward. This was an act of direct disobedience and lack of trust in God’s power. Urdu Explanation: اس کے باوجود تم نے اوپر جانے سے انکار کر دیا اور اپنے خداوند خدا کے حکم سے سرکشی کی۔ یہ تمہارے ایمان کی کمی اور نافرمانی کا اظہار تھا۔
Deuteronomy 1:27
Verse: And ye murmured in your tents and said Because the LORD hated us he hath brought us forth out of the land of Egypt to deliver us into the hand of the Amorites to destroy us English Explanation: The Israelites misinterpreted God’s deliverance as a death trap. They wrongly accused God of hatred, showing how fear can distort a person’s perception of God’s love. Urdu Explanation: تم اپنے خیموں میں بڑبڑانے لگے اور کہا کہ خداوند ہم سے نفرت کرتا ہے اس لیے وہ ہمیں مصر سے نکال لایا تاکہ ہمیں اموریوں کے حوالے کر کے ہلاک کر دے۔ تم نے خدا کی محبت کو نفرت سمجھ لیا۔
Deuteronomy 1:28
Verse: Whither shall we go up? our brethren have discouraged our heart saying The people is greater and taller than we the cities are great and walled up to heaven and moreover we have seen the sons of the Anakims there English Explanation: The people focused on the size of the obstacles—giant men and fortified cities—rather than the size of their God. Fear became contagious among the tribes. Urdu Explanation: تم نے کہا کہ ہم کہاں جائیں؟ ہمارے بھائیوں نے ہمیں یہ کہہ کر ڈرا دیا ہے کہ وہاں کے لوگ ہم سے بڑے اور قد آور ہیں اور شہر بہت بڑے اور آسمان تک بلند دیواروں والے ہیں۔
Deuteronomy 1:29
Verse: Then I said unto you Dread not neither be afraid of them English Explanation: Moses tried to offer spiritual encouragement, urging the people not to be paralyzed by the physical appearance of the enemy. Urdu Explanation: تب میں نے تم سے کہا کہ ان سے مت ڈرو اور خوفزدہ نہ ہو۔ موسیٰ نے انہیں خدا پر بھروسہ رکھنے کی تلقین کی۔
Deuteronomy 1:30
Verse: The LORD your God which goeth before you he shall fight for you according to all that he did for you in Egypt before your eyes English Explanation: Moses reminded them of their history. The same God who performed miracles in Egypt would fight the battles in Canaan. Urdu Explanation: خداوند تمہارا خدا جو تمہارے آگے چلتا ہے وہ تمہاری خاطر لڑے گا بالکل ویسے ہی جیسے اس نے تمہاری آنکھوں کے سامنے مصر میں کیا۔
Deuteronomy 1:31
Verse: And in the wilderness where thou hast seen how that the LORD thy God bare thee as a man doth bear his son in all the way that ye went until ye came into this place English Explanation: This beautiful metaphor illustrates God’s fatherly care. He carried them through the harsh desert like a father carries a tired child. Urdu Explanation: اور بیابان میں تم نے دیکھا کہ کس طرح خداوند تمہارے خدا نے تمہیں اٹھایا جیسے کوئی باپ اپنے بیٹے کو اٹھاتا ہے۔ اس نے پورے راستے تمہاری حفاظت کی۔
Deuteronomy 1:32
Verse: Yet in this thing ye did not believe the LORD your God English Explanation: Despite the miracles and the fatherly care, the fundamental problem remained: a heart of unbelief. Urdu Explanation: لیکن اس سب کے باوجود تم نے اپنے خداوند خدا پر یقین نہ کیا۔ تمہارے دلوں میں ایمان کی کمی تھی۔
Deuteronomy 1:33
Verse: Who went in the way before you to search you out a place to pitch your tents in in fire by night to shew you by what way ye should go and in a cloud by day English Explanation: God provided constant guidance through the pillar of fire and cloud, choosing the best locations for them to rest. Urdu Explanation: وہ تمہارے آگے آگے چلتا رہا تاکہ تمہارے خیمے لگانے کے لیے جگہ تلاش کرے اور آگ اور بادل کے ذریعے تمہیں راستہ دکھائے۔
Deuteronomy 1:34
Verse: And the LORD heard the voice of your words and was wroth and sware saying English Explanation: God is not indifferent to our words. Their complaints reached His ears, leading to His divine judgment. Urdu Explanation: خداوند نے تمہاری باتوں کو سنا اور وہ غضبناک ہوا اور اس نے قسم کھائی۔ ہماری باتیں خدا کے نزدیک اہمیت رکھتی ہیں۔
Deuteronomy 1:35
Verse: Surely there shall not one of these men of this evil generation see that good land which I sware to give unto your fathers English Explanation: Because of their rebellion, the adult generation was barred from entering the Promised Land. Urdu Explanation: اس بدکار نسل کا ایک بھی آدمی اس اچھی زمین کو نہیں دیکھ پائے گا جس کا میں نے تمہارے باپ دادا سے وعدہ کیا تھا۔
Deuteronomy 1:36
Verse: Save Caleb the son of Jephunneh he shall see it and to him will I give the land that he hath trodden upon and to his children because he hath wholly followed the LORD English Explanation: Caleb is highlighted for his wholehearted devotion. Faithfulness results in individual reward even amidst national judgment. Urdu Explanation: سوائے کالب کے جو یفنّہ کا بیٹا ہے کیونکہ اس نے پورے دل سے خداوند کی پیروی کی۔ اسے وہ زمین ملے گی جہاں اس کے قدم پڑے۔
Deuteronomy 1:37
Verse: Also the LORD was angry with me for your sakes saying Thou also shalt not go in thither English Explanation: Moses mentions that he too was denied entry. While Moses’ sin was his own, the pressure of the people’s rebellion was the context for his failing. Urdu Explanation: تمہاری وجہ سے خداوند مجھ سے بھی ناراض ہوا اور کہا کہ تو بھی وہاں داخل نہ ہو سکے گا۔
Deuteronomy 1:38
Verse: But Joshua the son of Nun which standeth before thee he shall go in thither encourage him for he shall cause Israel to inherit it English Explanation: Leadership would pass to Joshua. Moses was commanded to encourage his successor to lead the next generation to victory. Urdu Explanation: لیکن یشوع جو تیرے سامنے کھڑا رہتا ہے وہ وہاں جائے گا۔ اس کی حوصلہ افزائی کر کیونکہ وہی اسرائیل کو اس کا وارث بنائے گا۔
Deuteronomy 1:39
Verse: Moreover your little ones which ye said should be a prey and your children which in that day had no knowledge between good and evil they shall go in thither and unto them will I give it and they shall possess it English Explanation: Ironically, the children whom the parents feared would die in the desert were the ones God chose to inherit the land. Urdu Explanation: اور تمہارے ننھے بچے جن کے بارے میں تم نے کہا تھا کہ وہ شکار ہو جائیں گے وہی اس زمین کے مالک بنیں گے۔
Deuteronomy 1:40
Verse: But as for you turn you and take your journey into the wilderness by the way of the Red sea English Explanation: Instead of entering the land of rest, the rebellious generation was commanded to turn back into the harsh desert. Urdu Explanation: لیکن تم واپس مڑ جاؤ اور بحیرہ احمر کے راستے سے بیابان کی طرف کوچ کرو۔
Deuteronomy 1:41
Verse: Then ye answered and said unto me We have sinned against the LORD we will go up and fight according to all that the LORD our God commanded us And when ye had girded on every man his weapons of war ye were ready to go up into the hill English Explanation: The people tried to repent after the judgment was pronounced, but it was a “forced” repentance driven by consequence rather than a change of heart. Urdu Explanation: تب تم نے کہا کہ ہم نے گناہ کیا ہے اور اب ہم لڑنے کے لیے تیار ہیں۔ تم نے اپنے ہتھیار اٹھا لیے لیکن یہ توبہ دیر سے کی گئی تھی۔
Deuteronomy 1:42
Verse: And the LORD said unto me Say unto them Go not up neither fight for I am not among you lest ye be smitten before your enemies English Explanation: God warned them not to fight because His presence would not be with them in their self-willed attempt. Urdu Explanation: خداوند نے کہا کہ ان سے کہہ دے کہ اوپر نہ جائیں اور نہ لڑیں کیونکہ میں تمہارے درمیان نہیں ہوں۔
Deuteronomy 1:43
Verse: So I spake unto you and ye would not hear but rebelled against the commandment of the LORD and went presumptuously up into the hill English Explanation: They added to their sin by acting in presumption, thinking they could win a battle without God’s approval. Urdu Explanation: میں نے تم سے کہا لیکن تم نے نہ سنا اور تکبر کے ساتھ پہاڑ پر چڑھ گئے۔
Deuteronomy 1:44
Verse: And the Amorites which dwelt in that mountain came out against you and chased you as bees do and destroyed you in Seir even unto Hormah English Explanation: Without God, Israel was powerless. The Amorites routed them easily, chasing them like a swarm of angry bees. Urdu Explanation: اور اموریوں نے تمہیں ایسے بھگایا جیسے شہد کی مکھیاں پیچھا کرتی ہیں اور تمہیں ہورمہ تک ہلاک کیا۔
Deuteronomy 1:45
Verse: And ye returned and wept before the LORD but the LORD would not hearken to your voice nor give ear unto you English Explanation: Their tears were of regret for their defeat, not true godly sorrow for their sin, so God did not change His decree. Urdu Explanation: تم واپس آئے اور روئے لیکن خداوند نے تمہاری آواز نہ سنی۔ یہ آنسو صرف اپنی شکست پر تھے۔
Deuteronomy 1:46
Verse: So ye abode in Kadesh many days according unto the days that ye abode there English Explanation: They remained in Kadesh for a long period, waiting for the command to move, marking a period of stagnation and discipline. Urdu Explanation: پس تم قادیس میں ایک طویل عرصے تک ٹھہرے رہے۔
Deuteronomy 2:1
Verse: Then we turned and took our journey into the wilderness by the way of the Red sea as the LORD spake unto me and we compassed mount Seir many days English Explanation: Obeying God’s late command, they began a long period of wandering around the region of Edom (Mount Seir). Urdu Explanation: پھر ہم مڑے اور بیابان کے راستے کوچ کیا اور ہم کافی عرصہ کوہِ شعیر کے گرد گھومتے رہے۔
Deuteronomy 2:2
Verse: And the LORD spake unto me saying English Explanation: After the years of wandering, God spoke again to signal a change in their direction. Urdu Explanation: اور خداوند نے مجھ سے کلام کرتے ہوئے کہا۔
Deuteronomy 2:3
Verse: Ye have compassed this mountain long enough turn you northward English Explanation: God decides when a season of discipline or waiting is over. It was finally time to move toward their ultimate destination. Urdu Explanation: تم اس پہاڑ کے گرد بہت گھوم چکے ہو اب شمال کی طرف مڑ جاؤ۔
Deuteronomy 2:4
Verse: And command thou the people saying Ye are to pass through the coast of your brethren the children of Esau which dwell in Seir and they shall be afraid of you take ye good heed unto yourselves therefore English Explanation: They were to pass through the territory of the Edomites (descendants of Esau). Despite being powerful, they were told to be cautious and respectful. Urdu Explanation: تم اپنے بھائیوں یعنی عیسو کی اولاد کی سرحد سے گزرو گے جو شعیر میں رہتے ہیں۔ وہ تم سے ڈریں گے اس لیے تم محتاط رہنا۔
Deuteronomy 2:5
Verse: Meddle not with them for I will not give you of their land no not so much as a foot breadth because I have given mount Seir unto Esau for a possession English Explanation: God respects the boundaries He sets. He gave Seir to Esau, so Israel was forbidden from trying to conquer it. Urdu Explanation: ان سے نہ الجھنا کیونکہ میں ان کی زمین میں سے تمہیں ایک انچ بھی نہیں دوں گا کیونکہ میں نے شعیر عیسو کو دیا ہے۔
Deuteronomy 2:6
Verse: Ye shall buy meat of them for money that ye may eat and ye shall also buy water of them for money that ye may drink English Explanation: Israel was to be honest in their dealings, paying for their resources rather than taking them by force. Urdu Explanation: تم ان سے کھانا اور پانی پیسوں کے بدلے خریدنا۔
Deuteronomy 2:7
Verse: For the LORD thy God hath blessed thee in all the works of thy hand he knoweth thy walking through this great wilderness these forty years the LORD thy God hath been with thee thou hast lacked nothing English Explanation: Moses reminds them that even in the wilderness, God’s provision was perfect. They had enough money and resources because God had blessed their efforts. Urdu Explanation: کیونکہ خداوند تمہارے خدا نے تمہارے تمام کاموں میں برکت دی ہے۔ ان چالیس سالوں میں تمہیں کسی چیز کی کمی نہیں ہوئی کیونکہ خدا تمہارے ساتھ تھا۔
