Esther 6:11
Verse: Then took Haman the apparel and the horse and arrayed Mordecai and brought him on horseback through the street of the city and proclaimed before him Thus shall it be done unto the man whom the king delighteth to honour

Haman, who had designed a grand honor intending it for himself, is forced by royal decree to bestow that very honor upon his bitterest enemy, Mordecai. Esther 6:12
Verse: And Mordecai came again to the king’s gate But Haman hasted to his house mourning and having his head covered
English Explanation
After receiving extraordinary honor, Mordecai shows remarkable humility by simply returning to his post at the king’s gate. He does not let the sudden fame get to his head. In contrast, Haman rushes home in deep shame and mourning, covering his head as a sign of humiliation and grief. The tables have completely turned.

Esther 6:13
Verse: And Haman told Zeresh his wife and all his friends every thing that had befallen him Then said his wise men and Zeresh his wife unto him If Mordecai be of the seed of the Jews before whom thou hast begun to fall thou shalt not prevail against him but shalt surely fall before him

Esther 6:14
Verse: And while they were yet talking with him came the king’s chamberlains and hasted to bring Haman unto the banquet that Esther had prepared

Before Haman can even process his family’s grim warning, the king’s eunuchs arrive to rush him to Queen Esther’s second banquet. Haman is swept away by a momentum he can no longer control, stepping directly into the trap of his own making.

Chapter 7
Esther 7:1
Verse: So the king and Haman came to banquet with Esther the queen

The stage is set for the climax. King Ahasuerus and Haman attend Esther’s private banquet. Haman is completely unaware that this exclusive invitation, which he previously boasted about, is actually the setting for his public exposure and condemnation.

Esther 7:2
Verse: And the king said again unto Esther on the second day at the banquet of wine What is thy petition queen Esther and it shall be granted thee and what is thy request and it shall be performed even to the half of the kingdom

For the third time, the king asks Esther for her petition, repeating his extravagant promise to grant it, up to half his kingdom. This shows the king’s deep affection for Esther and provides the perfect, divinely orchestrated moment for her to speak up for her people.

Esther 7:3
Verse: Then Esther the queen answered and said If I have found favour in thy sight O king and if it please the king let my life be given me at my petition and my people at my request

Esther delivers her petition with incredible wisdom, courage, and humility. Instead of asking for wealth or land, she begs for her very life and the lives of her people. By phrasing it this way, she instantly forces the king to realize that a plot against her people is a direct threat to his beloved queen.

Verse: For we are sold I and my people to be destroyed to be slain and to perish But if we had been sold for bondmen and bondwomen I had held my tongue although the enemy could not countervail the king’s damage

Verse: Then the king Ahasuerus answered and said unto Esther the queen Who is he and where is he that durst presume in his heart to do so

Verse: And Esther said The adversary and enemy is this wicked Haman Then Haman was afraid before the king and the queen

Esther 7:7
Verse: And the king arising from the banquet of wine in his wrath went into the palace garden and Haman stood up to make request for his life to Esther the queen for he saw that there was evil determined against him by the king

Verse: Then the king returned out of the palace garden into the place of the banquet of wine and Haman was fallen upon the bed whereon Esther was Then said the king Will he force the queen also before me in the house As the word went out of the king’s mouth they covered Haman’s face

Verse: And Harbonah one of the chamberlains said before the king Behold also the gallows fifty cubits high which Haman had made for Mordecai who had spoken good for the king standeth in the house of Haman Then the king said Hang him thereon

Verse: So they hanged Haman on the gallows that he had prepared for Mordecai Then was the king’s wrath pacified

Chapter 8
Esther 8:1
Verse: On that day did the king Ahasuerus give the house of Haman the Jews’ enemy unto Esther the queen And Mordecai came before the king for Esther had told what he was unto her

Following Haman’s execution, the king transfers Haman’s entire estate to Queen Esther. Esther also reveals her familial relationship to Mordecai, prompting the king to bring Mordecai directly into his inner royal circle.

Esther 8:2
Verse: And the king took off his ring which he had taken from Haman and gave it unto Mordecai And Esther set Mordecai over the house of Haman

Verse: And Esther spake yet again before the king and fell down at his feet and besought him with tears to put away the mischief of Haman the Agagite and his device that he had devised against the Jews

Verse: Then the king held out the golden sceptre toward Esther So Esther arose and stood before the king

Verse: For how can I endure to see the evil that shall come unto my people or how can I endure to see the destruction of my kindred
