Ezekiel 13:18

    And say Thus saith the Lord GOD Woe to the women that sew pillows to all armholes and make kerchiefs upon the head of every stature to hunt souls Will ye hunt the souls of my people and will ye save the souls alive that come unto you

The “pillows” sewn to armholes and “kerchiefs” (veils) placed on heads were physical amulets or ritualistic garments used to trap people into superstition. Ezekiel 13:19

    And will ye pollute me among my people for handfuls of barley and for pieces of bread to slay the souls that should not die and to save the souls alive that should not live by your lying to my people that hear your lies

  • Urdu Explanation (تفصیلی وضاحت): یہ جھوٹی عورتیں چند مٹھی بھر جو اور روٹی کے ٹکڑوں جیسے معمولی دنیاوی فائدے کے لیے اللہ کے نام کو بدنام کر رہی تھیں۔ وہ جھوٹی پیشگوئیوں کے ذریعے سچے اور نیک لوگوں کو ڈراتی اور مایوس کرتی تھیں (جنہیں مرنا نہیں چاہیے) اور گنہگاروں کو زندگی کی جھوٹی امید دیتی تھیں (جنہیں زندہ نہیں رہنا چاہیے)۔

Ezekiel 13:20

    Wherefore thus saith the Lord GOD Behold I am against your pillows wherewith ye there hunt the souls to make them fly and I will tear them from your arms and will let the souls go even the souls that ye hunt to make them fly

Ezekiel 13:21

    Your kerchiefs also will I tear and deliver my people out of your hand and they shall be no more in your hand to be hunted and ye shall know that I am the LORD

  • English Explanation: God vows to rip off their ritualistic veils (“kerchiefs”) and permanently strip these deceptive women of their power over His people. The ultimate goal of this deliverance is for everyone to recognize the sovereign power and justice of Yahweh.

  • Urdu Explanation (تفصیلی وضاحت): خداوند فرماتا ہے کہ وہ ان کے جادوئی نقابوں کو بھی چاک کر دے گا اور اپنے لوگوں کو ان کے ہاتھوں سے بچائے گا۔ اب سے کوئی بھی ان کے جال میں شکار نہیں ہوگا اور اس نجات کے ذریعے سب جان جائیں گے کہ حقیقی قدرت صرف خداوند کے پاس ہے۔

Ezekiel 13:22

    Because with lies ye have made the heart of the righteous sad whom I have not made sad and strengthened the hands of the wicked that he should not return from his wicked way by promising him life

  • English Explanation: This outlines the social and spiritual damage caused by false spirituality. Their lies demoralized the godly, making them sad, while simultaneously validating and encouraging the wicked in their sins by falsely promising them immunity and life without repentance.

  • Urdu Explanation (تفصیلی وضاحت): ان جھوٹے دعووں کا بڑا نقصان یہ تھا کہ انہوں نے راستبازوں (نیک لوگوں) کے دلوں کو دکھایا جنہیں خدا نے اداس نہیں کیا تھا اور دوسری طرف انہوں نے گنہگاروں کو توبہ کرنے سے روکا اور ان کے ہاتھ مضبوط کیے کیونکہ وہ گنہگاروں کو جھوٹی تسلی دے کر زندگی کا وعدہ کرتی تھیں۔

Ezekiel 13:23

    Therefore ye shall see no more vanity nor divine divinations for I will deliver my people out of your hand and ye shall know that I am the LORD

  • English Explanation: Judgment results in the complete eradication of these false visions and occult divinations. By rescuing His people from spiritual manipulation, God proves His identity as the ultimate protector.

Ezekiel 14:1

Ezekiel 14:2

Ezekiel 14:3

    Son of man these men have set up their idols in their heart and put the stumblingblock of their iniquity before their face should I be enquired of at all by them

  • English Explanation: God exposes their hypocrisy. While they look pious on the outside, they have “set up idols in their heart.” Their sin is a stumbling block that blinds them. God asks a rhetorical question: Why should He allow Himself to be consulted by hypocrites?

  • Urdu Explanation (تفصیلی وضاحت): خداوند فرماتا ہے کہ اے آدمزاد ان مردوں نے اپنے دلوں میں بت کھڑے کر رکھے ہیں۔ اگرچہ وہ ظاہری طور پر پاک نظر آتے ہیں لیکن ان کے دل گناہ اور بت پرستی سے بھرے ہیں۔ خدا سوال کرتا ہے کہ کیا ایسے منافقوں کو مجھ سے مشورہ مانگنے کا کوئی حق ہے؟

Ezekiel 14:4

    Therefore speak unto them and say unto them Thus saith the Lord GOD Every man of the house of Israel that setteth up his idols in his heart and putteth the stumblingblock of his iniquity before his face and cometh to the prophet I the LORD will answer him that cometh according to the multitude of his idols

Ezekiel 14:5

    That I may take the house of Israel in their own heart because they are all estranged from me through their idols

Ezekiel 14:6

    Therefore say unto the house of Israel Thus saith the Lord GOD Repent and turn yourselves from your idols and turn away your faces from all your abominations

  • English Explanation: Despite the looming judgment, God offers a clear path of mercy. He commands the entire house of Israel to repent, completely turn away from their physical and internal idols, and reject their abominable practices.

Ezekiel 14:7

    For every one of the house of Israel or of the stranger that sojourneth in Israel which separateth himself from me and setteth up his idols in his heart and putteth the stumblingblock of his iniquity before his face and cometh to a prophet to enquire of him concerning me I the LORD will answer him by myself

Ezekiel 14:8

    And I will set my face against that man and will make him a sign and a proverb and I will cut him off from the midst of my people and ye shall know that I am the LORD

  • English Explanation: God promises to actively oppose the hypocrite. He will turn that person into a public “sign and proverb”—a tragic warning lesson for others—and completely remove them from the community, demonstrating His absolute authority.

  • Urdu Explanation (تفصیلی وضاحت): خدا فرماتا ہے کہ وہ اس شخص کے سخت خلاف ہو جائے گا اور اسے عبرت کا نشان اور ضرب المثل بنا دے گا اور اسے اپنے لوگوں کے درمیان سے کاٹ ڈالے گا تاکہ سب کو معلوم ہو کہ وہی رب ہے۔

Ezekiel 14:9

    And if the prophet be deceived when he hath spoken a thing I the LORD have deceived that prophet and I will stretch out my hand upon him and will destroy him from the midst of my people Israel

  • English Explanation: If a false prophet gives a reassuring answer to an idolater, it means God has allowed that prophet to be blinded by their own delusion as a form of divine judgment. God will hold that compromised prophet personally accountable and destroy them.

  • Urdu Explanation (تفصیلی وضاحت): اگر کوئی نبی دھوکا کھا کر کسی گنہگار کو خوش کرنے والی بات کہتا ہے تو اس کا مطلب ہے کہ خدا نے اس کی گمراہی کے سبب اس کے ذہن کو اندھا کر دیا ہے۔ خدا اپنا ہاتھ بڑھا کر ایسے جھوٹے نبی کو ہلاک کر دے گا۔

Ezekiel 14:10

  • Verse Text:

    And they shall bear the punishment of their iniquity the punishment of the prophet shall be even as the punishment of him that seeketh unto him

  • English Explanation: God establishes equal accountability. Both the corrupt seeker (the idolater) and the corrupt enabler (the false prophet) will bear identical judgment because both participated in maintaining the lie.

  • Urdu Explanation (تفصیلی وضاحت): وہ دونوں اپنے گناہ کی سزا پائیں گے۔ جھوٹی رہنمائی تلاش کرنے والے اور جھوٹ بولنے والے نبی دونوں کی سزا ایک جیسی ہوگی کیونکہ دونوں گناہ میں برابر کے شریک ہیں۔

Ezekiel 14:11

    That the house of Israel may go no more astray from me neither be polluted any more with all their transgressions but that they may be my people and I may be their God saith the Lord GOD

  • English Explanation: The ultimate goal of this harsh discipline is restorative, not destructive. God purges the wicked elements so that the remaining nation will stop wandering away, remain spiritually clean, and enjoy a pure covenant relationship with Him.

Ezekiel 14:12

Ezekiel 14:13

    Son of man when the land sinneth against me by trespassing grievously then will I stretch out mine hand upon it and will break the staff of the bread thereof and will send famine upon it and will cut off man and beast from it

  • English Explanation: God explains that when a nation persistently and grievously sins against Him, He responds with severe judgment, specifically by cutting off their food supply (“breaking the staff of bread”), sending devastating famine, and wiping out both human and animal populations.

Ezekiel 14:14

    Though these three men Noah Daniel and Job were in it they should deliver but their own souls by their righteousness saith the Lord GOD

  • English Explanation: To emphasize the absolute certainty of Jerusalem’s impending destruction, God declares that even if the three legendary, righteous figures—Noah, Daniel, and Job—were living in that city, their immense personal righteousness could not save the nation. They would only be able to save themselves. Righteousness is individual and cannot be borrowed or transferred to protect a rebellious society.
