Ezekiel Chapter 12 (Verses 20–28)

Ezekiel 12:20

  • Verse: And the cities that are inhabited shall be laid waste and the land shall be desolate; and ye shall know that I am the LORD.

  • Urdu Explanation (تفصیلی تفسیر): اس آیت میں مکمل تباہی کی سخت پیشگوئی کی گئی ہے۔ خدا فرماتا ہے کہ آباد اور رونق والے شہر کھنڈرات میں تبدیل ہو جائیں گے اور زمین ویران ہو جائے گی۔ اس شدید عدالت کا حتمی مقصد صرف سزا دینا نہیں ہے بلکہ خدا کی حاکمیت کا اظہار ہے تاکہ لوگ جان لیں کہ حقیقی قدرت کا مالک صرف خداوند ہے۔

Ezekiel 12:21

Ezekiel 12:22

  • Verse: Son of man what is that proverb that ye have in the land of Israel saying The days are prolonged and every vision faileth?

  • English Explanation: God challenges a popular, cynical proverb circulating among the Israelites. The people were dismissing true prophetic warnings by claiming that the predicted judgments were being delayed indefinitely (“the days are prolonged”) and that the visions would never come to pass (“every vision faileth”).

  • Urdu Explanation (تفصیلی تفسیر): خدا اسرائیل کی سرزمین میں رائج ایک مایوس کن اور طنزیہ کہاوت کو چیلنج کرتا ہے۔ لوگ سچے نبیوں کی وارننگز کا یہ کہہ کر مذاق اڑاتے تھے کہ عذاب کے دن دور ہیں (“دن بڑھ گئے ہیں”) اور ہر رویا (پیشگوئی) جھوٹی ثابت ہوتی ہے۔

Ezekiel 12:23

  • Verse: Tell them therefore Thus saith the Lord GOD; I will make this proverb to cease and they shall no more use it as a proverb in Israel; but say unto them The days are at hand and the effect of every vision.

  • English Explanation: God commands Ezekiel to completely shatter their false sense of security. He promises to silence this cynical proverb by bringing immediate fulfillment to the prophecies. The time of waiting is officially over; the reality of the visions is now right at their doorstep.

  • Urdu Explanation (تفصیلی تفسیر): خدا حزقیل کو حکم دیتا ہے کہ وہ ان کے جھوٹے سکون کو چکنا چور کر دے۔ خدا فرماتا ہے کہ وہ اس کہاوت کو ختم کر دے گا کیونکہ اب پیشگوئیوں کے پورا ہونے کا وقت آ گیا ہے۔ انتظار کا وقت ختم ہو چکا ہے اور عذاب بالکل دروازے پر ہے۔

Ezekiel 12:24

  • Verse: For there shall be no more any vain vision nor flattering divination within the house of Israel.

  • English Explanation: God declares that He will put an end to the culture of deceit. False prophets who offered empty visions and flattering, deceptive words to please the crowds will be exposed as frauds, because reality will completely contradict their comforting lies.

  • Urdu Explanation (تفصیلی تفسیر): خدا فرماتا ہے کہ وہ دھوکے کی اس فضا کو ختم کر دے گا۔ وہ جھوٹے نبی جو لوگوں کو خوش کرنے کے لیے جھوٹی رویا اور خوشامدانہ غیب دانی کرتے تھے، اب بے نقاب ہو جائیں گے کیونکہ سچائی ان کے جھوٹ کو رد کر دے گی۔

Ezekiel 12:25

  • Verse: For I am the LORD I will speak and the word that I shall speak shall come to pass; it shall be no more prolonged for in your days O rebellious house will I say the word and will perform it saith the Lord GOD.

  • Urdu Explanation (تفصیلی تفسیر): خدا اپنی قدرت اور سچائی کا اعادہ کرتا ہے۔ جھوٹے نبیوں کی خالی باتوں کے برعکس، خدا جو فرماتا ہے وہ فوراً پورا ہوتا ہے۔ خدا زور دے کر کہتا ہے کہ یہ عدالت اسی سرکش نسل کی زندگی میں ہی پوری کی جائے گی اور اب کوئی تاخیر نہیں ہوگی۔

Ezekiel 12:26

  • Verse: Again the word of the LORD came to me saying

  • English Explanation: This marks another distinct message given to Ezekiel, underscoring the urgency and repetition needed to break through the spiritual blindness and stubbornness of the people.

  • Urdu Explanation (تفصیلی تفسیر): یہ حزقیل پر نازل ہونے والے ایک نئے پیغام کی شروعات ہے، جو ظاہر کرتا ہے کہ قوم کی روحانی اندھی پٹی اور ضد کو توڑنے کے لیے خدا بار بار تاکید فرما رہا ہے۔

Ezekiel 12:27

  • Verse: Son of man behold they of the house of Israel say The vision that he seeth is for many days to come and he prophesieth of the times that are far off.

  • English Explanation: The people changed their excuse; when they could no longer deny Ezekiel’s visions entirely, they rationalized them away by saying the destruction was meant for the distant future, generations down the line, so they didn’t need to repent today.

  • Urdu Explanation (تفصیلی تفسیر): لوگوں نے اپنا عذر بدل لیا؛ جب وہ حزقیل کی رویا کا مکمل انکار نہ کر سکے تو انہوں نے یہ کہنا شروع کر دیا کہ یہ تباہی دور مستقبل کے لیے ہے اور اس کا تعلق کئی نسلوں بعد سے ہے، اس لیے انہیں آج توبہ کرنے کی کوئی ضرورت نہیں ہے۔

Ezekiel 12:28

  • Verse: Therefore say unto them Thus saith the Lord GOD; There shall none of my words be prolonged any more but the word which I have spoken shall be done saith the Lord GOD.

  • Explanation: God provides the final answer to their procrastination. He states flatly that the timeline will not be stretched out anymore. Every single word of judgment spoken against Jerusalem will be executed immediately.

  • Urdu Explanation (تفصیلی تفسیر): خدا ان کی ٹال مٹول کی عادت کا آخری جواب دیتا ہے۔ وہ واضح فرماتا ہے کہ اب میری باتوں میں کوئی تاخیر نہیں ہوگی۔ یروشلم کے خلاف کہی گئی عدالت کی ایک ایک بات اب فوراً پوری ہو کر رہے گی۔

Ezekiel Chapter 13 (Verses 1–17)

Ezekiel 13:1

  • Verse: And the word of the LORD came unto me saying

  • English Explanation: This opens a new chapter focused strictly on condemning the corrupt religious leadership. Ezekiel receives divine orders to confront those who abuse the office of the prophet.

  • Urdu Explanation (تفصیلی تفسیر): یہاں سے ایک نیا باب شروع ہوتا ہے جس کا محور کرپٹ مذہبی رہنماؤں کی مذمت کرنا ہے۔ حزقیل کو ان لوگوں کا سامنا کرنے کا الٰہی حکم ملتا ہے جو نبوت کے عہدے کا غلط استعمال کر رہے تھے۔

Ezekiel 13:2

  • Verse: Son of man prophesy against the prophets of Israel that prophesy and say thou unto them that prophesy out of their own hearts Hear ye the word of the LORD;

  • English Explanation: God directs Ezekiel to speak out against the self-appointed prophets. These individuals were fabricating messages originating purely from their own desires, emotions, and minds (“out of their own hearts”) rather than receiving divine truth.

  • Urdu Explanation (تفصیلی تفسیر): خدا حزقیل کو خود ساختہ نبیوں کے خلاف نبوت کرنے کا حکم دیتا ہے۔ یہ وہ لوگ تھے جو خدا کی طرف سے سچائی پانے کے بجائے محض اپنے دلوں کی خواہشات، جذبات اور خیالات کے مطابق جھوٹے پیغامات گھڑتے تھے۔

Ezekiel 13:3

  • Verse: Thus saith the Lord GOD; Woe unto the foolish prophets that follow their own spirit and have seen nothing!

  • English Explanation: A declaration of severe judgment (“Woe”) is pronounced upon these foolish leaders. They are condemned because they rely entirely on their own human arrogance and imaginations, yet they confidently claim to speak for God when they have received absolutely no vision from Him.

  • Urdu Explanation (تفصیلی تفسیر): ان احمق نبیوں پر سخت افسوس اور عذاب کا اعلان کیا گیا ہے۔ ان کی مذمت اس لیے کی گئی ہے کیونکہ وہ خدا کی طرف سے کوئی رویا دیکھے بغیر، محض اپنے ہی انسانی وہم اور تکبر کی پیروی کرتے ہوئے دعویٰ کرتے تھے کہ وہ خدا کے ترجمان ہیں۔

Ezekiel 13:4

  • Verse: O Israel thy prophets are like the foxes in the deserts.

  • English Explanation: God compares these false prophets to jackals or foxes scavenging among desert ruins. Instead of protecting, rebuilding, or caring for the nation, they actively exploit the vulnerabilities of the people for their own selfish gain.

  • Urdu Explanation (تفصیلی تفسیر): خدا ان جھوٹے نبیوں کو بیابان کے لومڑیوں یا گیدڑوں سے تشبیہ دیتا ہے۔ قوم کی حفاظت یا اصلاح کرنے کے بجائے، یہ لوگ اپنے ذاتی مفاد کے لیے لوگوں کی کمزوریوں اور تباہ حالی کا فائدہ اٹھا رہے تھے۔

Ezekiel 13:5

  • Verse: Ye have not gone up into the gaps neither made up the hedge for the house of Israel to stand in the battle in the day of the LORD.

  • English Explanation: True spiritual leaders act as protectors, standing in the spiritual gaps and building up defense walls through prayer and moral accountability. These false prophets did nothing to prepare the nation to withstand God’s coming day of judgment.

  • Urdu Explanation (تفصیلی تفسیر): سچے روحانی رہنما قوم کے محافظ ہوتے ہیں جو دعا اور اخلاقی اصلاح کے ذریعے روحانی دراڑوں کو بھرتے ہیں۔ لیکن ان جھوٹے نبیوں نے قوم کو خدا کی عدالت کے دن ثابت قدم رہنے کے لیے تیار کرنے کا کوئی کام نہیں کیا۔

Ezekiel 13:6

  • Verse: They have seen vanity and lying divination saying The LORD saith and the LORD hath not sent them and they have made others to hope that they would confirm the word.

  • English Explanation: Their messages are identified as complete falsehoods and delusions. They explicitly used God’s name (“The LORD saith”) to gain authority, deceiving the public into believing and hoping that these fraudulent promises would actually come true.

  • Urdu Explanation (تفصیلی تفسیر): ان کے پیغامات کو مکمل طور پر باطل اور جھوٹ قرار دیا گیا ہے۔ انہوں نے لوگوں کا اعتماد جیتنے کے لیے خدا کا نام استعمال کیا (“خداوند فرماتا ہے”)، جبکہ خدا نے انہیں نہیں بھیجا تھا، اور انہوں نے لوگوں کو اس جھوٹی امید میں رکھا کہ یہ باتیں پوری ہوں گی۔

Ezekiel 13:7

  • Verse: Have ye not seen a vain vision and have ye not spoken a lying divination whereas ye say The LORD saith it; albeit I have not spoken?

  • English Explanation: God asks a rhetorical question to expose their hypocrisy. He confronts them directly with the reality that they knew their visions were completely invented and that they were falsely claiming divine backing for messages He never uttered.

  • Urdu Explanation (تفصیلی تفسیر): خدا ان کی منافقت کو بے نقاب کرنے کے لیے ایک سوال پوچھتا ہے۔ وہ ان سے کہتا ہے کہ کیا تم نے خود جھوٹی رویا نہیں گھڑی؟ تم یہ دعویٰ کرتے ہو کہ یہ خداوند کا کلام ہے، حالانکہ میں نے تم سے کبھی کوئی بات نہیں کی۔

Ezekiel 13:8

  • Verse: Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Because ye have spoken vanity and seen lies therefore behold I am against you saith the Lord GOD.

  • English Explanation: Due to their persistent spreading of lies and false hopes, God declares Himself to be their direct adversary. There is no greater danger for a religious leader than to have God actively working against them.

  • Urdu Explanation (تفصیلی تفسیر): مسلسل جھوٹ پھیلانے اور باطل امیدیں دینے کی وجہ سے، اب خدا خود ان کا مخالف بن گیا ہے۔ کسی بھی مذہبی رہنما کے لیے اس سے بڑی ہلاکت کوئی نہیں ہو سکتی کہ خدا خود اس کے خلاف کھڑا ہو جائے۔

Ezekiel 13:9

  • Verse: And mine hand shall be upon the prophets that see vanity and that divine lies they shall not be in the assembly of my people neither shall they be written in the writing of the house of Israel neither shall they enter into the land of Israel; and ye shall know that I am the Lord GOD.

  • English Explanation: God outlines three distinct punishments for these false prophets: they will lose their positions of influence within the community, their names will be erased from the official citizenship registers of Israel, and they will never return to inherit the Promised Land.

  • Urdu Explanation (تفصیلی تفسیر): خدا ان جھوٹے نبیوں کے لیے تین سزائیں مقرر کرتا ہے: وہ قوم کی مجلس سے خارج کر دیے جائیں گے، ان کے نام اسرائیل کے سرکاری رجسٹروں (شجرہ نسب) سے مٹا دیے جائیں گے، اور وہ کبھی بھی واپس اسرائیل کی پاک سرزمین میں داخل نہیں ہو سکیں گے۔

Ezekiel 13:10

  • Verse: Because even because they have seduced my people saying Peace; and there was no peace; and one built up a wall and lo others daubed it with untempered morter

  • English Explanation: The primary sin of these prophets was deceiving the people with messages of false security (“Peace; and there was no peace”). God compares the fragile state of the nation to a poorly constructed wall built with weak materials, which the false prophets merely whitewashed (daubed with untempered mortar) to make it look strong and stable from the outside.

  • Urdu Explanation (تفصیلی تفسیر): ان نبیوں کا سب سے بڑا گناہ یہ تھا کہ انہوں نے قوم کو جھوٹی تسلی دی (“سلامتی ہے، حالانکہ سلامتی نہ تھی”)۔ خدا قوم کے گرتے ہوئے حالات کو ایک کچی دیوار سے تشبیہ دیتا ہے، جس پر ان جھوٹے نبیوں نے کچے گارے کا لیپ کر کے اسے اوپر سے خوبصورت اور مضبوط دکھانے کی کوشش کی تاکہ اندرونی خرابی چھپ جائے۔

Ezekiel 13:11

  • Verse: Say unto them which daub it with untempered morter that it shall fall there shall be an overflowing shower; and ye O great hailstones shall fall; and a stormy wind shall rend it.

  • English Explanation: Ezekiel is told to warn these deceivers that their superficial cover-up will fail miserably. God will send a massive spiritual judgment—metaphorically described as torrential rain, heavy hailstones, and violent winds—that will completely tear down this structurally flawed wall.

  • Urdu Explanation (تفصیلی تفسیر): حزقیل سے کہا گیا ہے کہ وہ ان دھوکے بازوں کو بتا دیں کہ ان کا یہ ظاہری ملمع کاری کا کام بری طرح ناکام ہوگا۔ خدا ایک شدید عدالت بھیجے گا—جسے موسلا دھار بارش، بڑے اولوں اور طوفانی ہوا سے تشبیہ دی گئی ہے—جو اس کمزور دیوار کو جڑ سے اکھاڑ دے گی۔

Ezekiel 13:12

  • Verse: Lo when the wall is fallen shall it not be said unto you Where is the daubing wherewith ye have daubed it?

  • English Explanation: When the city falls and the judgment occurs, the false prophets will face intense public mockery and accountability. People will ask them what happened to all their grand guarantees, peaceful predictions, and reassuring lies.

  • Urdu Explanation (تفصیلی تفسیر): جب یہ دیوار گر جائے گی (یعنی شہر تباہ ہو جائے گا)، تو ان جھوٹے نبیوں کو شدید رسوائی اور ملامت کا سامنا کرنا پڑے گا۔ لوگ ان سے پوچھیں گے کہ اب کہاں گیا وہ لیپ پوتا اور وہ جھوٹے دلاسے جو تم ہمیں دیا کرتے تھے؟

Ezekiel 13:13

  • Verse: Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; I will even rend it with a stormy wind in my fury; and there shall be an overflowing shower in mine anger and great hailstones in my fury to consume it.

  • English Explanation: God reiterates that the coming destruction is driven by His divine wrath against persistent sin. He will personally send the elemental forces of judgment to completely destroy the false security systems the people relied upon.

  • Urdu Explanation (تفصیلی تفسیر): خدا دوبارہ کہتا ہے کہ یہ آنے والی تباہی اس کے غضب کا نتیجہ ہے۔ وہ خود اپنی شدید ناراضگی میں ایسی طوفانی ہوائیں اور اولے بھیجے گا جو ان تمام جھوٹی پناہ گاہوں کو نیست و نابود کر دیں گے جن پر لوگ بھروسہ کر کے بیٹھے تھے۔

Ezekiel 13:14

  • Verse: So will I break down the wall that ye have daubed with untempered morter and bring it down to the ground so that the foundation thereof shall be discovered and it shall fall and ye shall be consumed in the midst thereof and ye shall know that I am the LORD.

  • English Explanation: The destruction will be so thorough that the wall will be leveled to the bare ground, exposing its faulty foundations. The false prophets will perish along with the system they tried to protect, validating God’s supreme authority through the execution of His word.

  • Urdu Explanation (تفصیلی تفسیر): تباہی اس قدر مکمل ہوگی کہ وہ کچی دیوار زمین بوس ہو جائے گی اور اس کی بنیادیں تک ننگی ہو جائیں گی۔ جھوٹے نبی اس نظام کے ساتھ ہی ملبے کے نیچے دب کر ہلاک ہو جائیں گے، اور اس طرح سب پر ظاہر ہو جائے گا کہ سچا خداوند کون ہے۔

Ezekiel 13:15

  • Verse: Thus will I accomplish my wrath upon the wall and upon them that have daubed it with untempered morter and will say unto you The wall is no more neither they that daubed it;

  • English Explanation: God declares that His judgment will be fully completed. Both the illusion of safety (the wall) and the architects of that illusion (the false prophets) will be entirely wiped out, leaving nothing behind.

  • Urdu Explanation (تفصیلی تفسیر): خدا فرماتا ہے کہ اس کا غضب پورا ہو کر رہے گا۔ نہ وہ جھوٹی سلامتی کی دیوار بچے گی اور نہ ہی وہ لوگ بچیں گے جنہوں نے اس پر کچے گارے کا لیپ کیا تھا؛ سب کچھ صفحہ ہستی سے مٹ جائے گا۔

Ezekiel 13:16

  • Verse: To wit the prophets of Israel which prophesy concerning Jerusalem and which see visions of peace for her and there is no peace saith the Lord GOD.

  • English Explanation: This verse identifies the target of God’s wrath: those specific prophets who looked at a morally decaying Jerusalem and kept falsely declaring that prosperity and safety lay ahead, deliberately ignoring the reality of impending judgment.

  • Urdu Explanation (تفصیلی تفسیر): یہ آیت واضح کرتی ہے کہ خدا کا غضب کن پر ہے: اسرائیل کے ان نبیوں پر جو یروشلم کے بارے میں نبوت کرتے تھے اور گناہوں میں ڈوبے ہوئے شہر کے لیے سلامتی کی جھوٹی رویا دیکھتے تھے، جبکہ وہاں حقیقت میں کوئی سلامتی موجود نہ تھی۔

Ezekiel 13:17

  • Verse: Likewise thou son of man set thy face against the daughters of thy people which prophesy out of their own heart; and prophesy thou against them

  • English Explanation: God directs Ezekiel to expand his focus and confront the false prophetesses within the community. Just like their male counterparts, these women were fabricating messages from their own imaginations and greed, using occult practices to exploit the fears of the people.

  • Urdu Explanation (تفصیلی تفسیر): خدا حزقیل کو حکم دیتا ہے کہ وہ اپنا رخ اپنی قوم کی ان بیٹیوں (جھوٹی نبیوں) کی طرف کرے جو اپنے ہی دل سے باتیں گھڑ کر نبوت کرتی تھیں۔ مردوں کی طرح یہ عورتیں بھی اپنے خیالات اور لالچ کے تحت لوگوں کو گمراہ کر رہی تھیں، اور اب ان کے خلاف بھی نبوت کرنے کا حکم دیا گیا ہے۔
