Ezekiel 7:1

Verse: Moreover the word of the LORD came unto me saying

  • English Explanation: This introductory verse establishes the divine authority of the message. Ezekiel is not speaking from his own intellect, emotions, or political observations; rather, he is receiving a direct, literal word from Yahweh. It emphasizes that what follows is an absolute divine decree that cannot be altered by human intervention.

  • Urdu Explanation (تفسیر): یہ تعارفی آیت پیغام کے الٰہی ہونے کی تصدیق کرتی ہے۔ حزقیال نبی اپنے ذاتی خیالات یا سیاسی حالات کی بنا پر نہیں بلکہ براہِ راست خداوند کا کلام حاصل کر کے بات کر رہے ہیں۔ یہ اس بات پر زور دیتا ہے کہ آنے والا پیغام اٹل الٰہی حکم ہے۔

Ezekiel 7:2

Verse: Also thou son of man thus saith the Lord GOD unto the land of Israel An end the end is come upon the four corners of the land

  • English Explanation: God addresses Ezekiel by his common title, “son of man,” highlighting human frailty against divine majesty. The phrase “the four corners of the land” indicates totality; the impending judgment and destruction will not be localized but will consume the entire nation of Israel. The repetition of “an end” underlines the absolute finality of the coming doom.

  • Urdu Explanation (تفسیر): خداوند حزقیال کو “آدمزاد” کہہ کر مخاطب کرتا ہے جو انسانی کمزوری کو ظاہر کرتا ہے۔ “زمین کے چاروں کونوں” سے مراد یہ ہے کہ یہ عدالت کسی ایک حصے تک محدود نہیں ہوگی بلکہ اسرائیل کی پوری سرزمین کو اپنی لپیٹ میں لے لے گی۔ “خاتمہ” کا بار بار ذکر اس بات کی طرف اشارہ ہے کہ اب توبہ کا وقت ختم ہو چکا ہے۔

Ezekiel 7:3

Verse: Now is the end come upon thee and I will send mine anger upon thee and will judge thee according to thy ways and will recompense upon thee all thine abominations

  • English Explanation: God declares that the time of patience has run out. The judgment is directly linked to the people’s “ways” (actions) and “abominations” (idolatry and moral decay). God acts as a righteous judge, ensuring that the consequences exactly match the gravity of their sins.

  • Urdu Explanation (تفسیر): خداوند فرماتا ہے کہ اب صبر کا وقت ختم ہو چکا ہے۔ یہ عدالت ان کے اپنے اعمال اور “مکروہات” (بت پرستی اور اخلاقی پستی) کا نتیجہ ہے۔ خدا ایک عادل منصف کے طور پر ان کے گناہوں کے مطابق ہی انہیں بدلہ دے گا۔

Ezekiel 7:4

Verse: And mine eye shall not spare thee neither will I have pity but I will recompense thy ways upon thee and thine abominations shall be in the midst of thee and ye shall know that I am the LORD

  • English Explanation: The suspension of divine mercy is highlighted here. God will show no pity because leniency would compromise His justice. The ultimate goal of this severe punishment is recognition: through the execution of justice, the people will finally acknowledge the sovereign authority and reality of Yahweh.

  • Urdu Explanation (تفسیر): یہاں الٰہی رحم کے رک جانے کا ذکر ہے۔ خدا فرماتا ہے کہ اب میری آنکھ ترس نہیں کھائے گی کیونکہ ان کے گناہ حد سے بڑھ چکے ہیں۔ اس سخت سزا کا بنیادی مقصد یہ ہے کہ لوگ اپنی نافرمانی کے انجام کو دیکھ کر جان لیں کہ حقیقی اور قادرِ مطلق خدا صرف خداوند ہی ہے۔

Ezekiel 7:5

Verse: Thus saith the Lord GOD An evil an only evil behold is come

  • English Explanation: The phrase “an only evil” denotes a disaster so unique, unprecedented, and total that it completely eclipses previous tribulations. It signifies a singular calamity—the destruction of Jerusalem—that will leave no room for recovery.

  • Urdu Explanation (تفسیر): “ایک ہی آفت” سے مراد ایک ایسی منفرد اور شدید تباہی ہے جس کی مثال ماضی میں نہیں ملتی۔ یہ یروشلم کی مکمل بربادی کا اعلان ہے جو اپنے پیچھے سنبھلنے کا کوئی موقع نہیں چھوڑے گی۔

Ezekiel 7:6

Verse: An end is come the end is come it watcheth for thee behold it is come

  • English Explanation: The prophecy uses personification, stating that the “end” is actively watching or awakening against the people. It conveys urgency; judgment is no longer sleeping or delayed; it is awake, alert, and standing at the doorstep.

  • Urdu Explanation (تفسیر): یہاں “خاتمے” کو ایک زندہ وجود کی طرح پیش کیا گیا ہے جو جاگ اٹھا ہے اور ان کی گھات میں ہے۔ یہ اس بات کی علامت ہے کہ خدا کی عدالت اب سست نہیں رہی بلکہ بالکل دروازے پر آ کھڑی ہوئی ہے۔

Ezekiel 7:7

Verse: The morning is come unto thee O thou that dwellest in the land the time is come the day of trouble is near and not the sounding again of the mountains

  • English Explanation: “The morning” refers to the dawning of the day of doom. The “sounding again of the mountains” refers to joyful echoes of harvest or pagan festivals. Instead of joyful shouts, the mountains will echo with the terrifying noises of battle and panic.

  • Urdu Explanation (تفسیر): “صبح” سے مراد یہاں تباہی کے دن کا آغاز ہے۔ پہاڑوں پر گونجنے والی آوازیں خوشی کے گیتوں یا بت پرستی کے تہواروں کی نہیں ہوں گی بلکہ جنگ کی ہولناکی اور خوف کی چیخیں ہوں گی۔

Ezekiel 7:8

Verse: Now will I shortly pour out my fury upon thee and accomplish mine anger upon thee and will judge thee according to thy ways and will recompense thee for all thine abominations

  • English Explanation: God emphasizes the immediacy (“shortly”) and the intensity (“pour out my fury”) of the coming wrath. The language reinforces that the punishment is perfectly proportional to their moral and spiritual rebellion.

  • Urdu Explanation (تفسیر): خداوند سزا کے بہت جلد اور انتہائی شدت سے نازل ہونے کا اعلان کرتا ہے۔ “قہر نازل کرنے” کے الفاظ یہ ظاہر کرتے ہیں کہ سزا ان کے گناہوں کی سنگینی کے عین مطابق ہوگی۔

Ezekiel 7:9

Verse: And mine eye shall not spare neither will I have pity I will recompense thee according to thy ways and thine abominations that are in the midst of thee and ye shall know that I am the LORD that smiteth

  • English Explanation: This verse repeats the warning of verse 4 but adds a crucial title: “the LORD that smiteth” (Yahweh-Mekkeh). God reveals Himself not only as a provider and savior but also as the executioner of divine justice who strikes when wickedness reaches its peak.

  • Urdu Explanation (تفسیر): یہ آیت چوتھی آیت کی تنبیہ کو دہراتی ہے لیکن اس میں ایک اہم اضافہ ہے کہ خدا خود کو “مارنے والا خداوند” ظاہر کرتا ہے۔ وہ یہ واضح کرتا ہے کہ وہ نہ صرف فضل کرنے والا ہے بلکہ گناہ پر سزا دینے والا عادل خدا بھی ہے۔

Ezekiel 7:10

Verse: Behold the day behold it is come the morning is gone forth the rod hath blossomed pride hath budded

  • English Explanation: The metaphors of the “rod” blossoming and “pride” budding indicate that Israel’s sins—specifically their arrogance and injustice—have fully matured. Their wickedness has grown to its peak, and it is now ripe for harvesting in the form of judgment.

  • Urdu Explanation (تفسیر): “لاٹھی کا پھولنا” اور “غرور کا شگوفہ لانا” استعارے ہیں جو ظاہر کرتے ہیں کہ اسرائیل کے گناہ اور ان کا تکبر اب پک کر تیار ہو چکا ہے۔ ان کی سرکشی اپنی انتہا کو پہنچ چکی ہے اور اب سزا کا وقت ہے۔

Ezekiel 7:11

Verse: Violence is risen up into a rod of wickedness none of them shall remain nor of their multitude nor of any of theirs neither shall there be wailing for them

  • English Explanation: The violence of the people has become the very instrument (rod) of their destruction. The devastation will be so absolute that none of their wealth or population will survive, and the chaos will be so immense that there will not even be time or people left to mourn the dead.

  • Urdu Explanation (تفسیر): لوگوں کا اپنا ظلم ہی ان کی بربادی کی لاٹھی بن چکا ہے۔ یہ تباہی اس قدر مکمل ہوگی کہ ان کا کوئی مال یا کثرت باقی نہیں رہے گی اور حالات اتنے ہولناک ہوں گے کہ مردوں پر ماتم کرنے والا بھی کوئی نہیں بچے گا۔

Ezekiel 7:12

Verse: The time is come the day draweth near let not the buyer rejoice nor the seller mourn for wrath is upon all the multitude thereof

  • English Explanation: In times of economic stability, buyers rejoice in gaining land and sellers mourn losing property. However, Ezekiel warns that normal economic emotions are useless now. The impending exile means ownership is meaningless; both buyer and seller will lose everything.

  • Urdu Explanation (تفسیر): عام حالات میں خریدار جائیداد ملنے پر خوش ہوتا ہے اور بیچنے والا غمگین۔ لیکن نبی فرماتا ہے کہ اب یہ سب بے معنی ہے کیونکہ آنے والی غلامی اور تباہی میں خریدار اور بیچنے والے دونوں ہی سب کچھ کھو بیٹھیں گے۔

Ezekiel 7:13

Verse: For the seller shall not return to that which is sold although they were yet alive for the vision is touching the whole multitude thereof which shall not return neither shall any strengthen himself in the iniquity of his life

  • English Explanation: Even if a seller survives, they will never return from exile to reclaim their ancestral land during the Year of Jubilee. The decree of judgment applies to everyone, and no amount of wealth or systemic iniquity can fortify a person against God’s judgment.

  • Urdu Explanation (تفسیر): اگر بیچنے والا زندہ بھی بچ جائے تو وہ کبھی واپس آ کر اپنی زمین پر قبضہ نہیں کر پائے گا کیونکہ جلاوطنی یقینی ہے۔ خدا کا یہ فیصلہ اٹل ہے اور کوئی بھی شخص اپنے گناہ یا دولت کے بل بوتے پر خود کو محفوظ نہیں رکھ سکتا۔

Ezekiel 7:14

Verse: They have blown the trumpet even to make all ready but none goeth to the battle for my wrath is upon all the multitude thereof

  • English Explanation: The military alarm is sounded to prepare the defense of Jerusalem, but the soldiers are paralyzed by fear sent by God. Divine wrath drains the courage of the nation, rendering their military preparations entirely useless.

  • Urdu Explanation (تفسیر): یروشلم کی حفاظت کے لیے جنگ کا نرسنگا تو پھونکا جائے گا لیکن خوف کی وجہ سے کوئی بھی لڑنے نہیں نکلے گا۔ خدا کا قہر ان کی ہمت کو توڑ دے گا جس سے ان کی تمام فوجی تیاریاں بے کار ہو جائیں گی۔

Ezekiel 7:15

Verse: The sword is without and the pestilence and the famine within he that is in the field shall die with the sword and he that is in the city famine and pestilence shall devour him

  • English Explanation: There is no escape from God’s judgment. Outside the city walls, the invading Babylonian army (the sword) awaits. Inside the walls, the siege will cause deadly famine and disease. Doom is inescapable regardless of location.

  • Urdu Explanation (تفسیر): خدا کی عدالت سے بھاگنے کا کوئی راستہ نہیں ہے۔ شہر کے باہر دشمن کی تلوار کھڑی ہے اور شہر کے اندر محاصرے کی وجہ سے قحط اور الٰہی بیماری (وباء) پھیلی ہوئی ہے۔ انسان کہیں بھی ہو موت سے نہیں بچ سکتا۔

Ezekiel 7:16

Verse: But they that escape of them shall escape and shall be on the mountains like doves of the valleys all of them mourning every one for his iniquity

  • English Explanation: A few individuals will survive, but they will not celebrate. Like frightened doves driven from their valleys to hide in the lonely mountains, these survivors will live in isolation, moaning and weeping under the heavy guilt of their personal sins.

  • Urdu Explanation (تفسیر): کچھ لوگ زندہ تو بچ جائیں گے لیکن وہ خوش نہیں ہوں گے۔ وادیوں سے بھگائی ہوئی خوفزدہ فاختاؤں کی طرح وہ پہاڑوں پر چھپتے پھریں گے اور اپنے گناہوں کے بوجھ تلے روتے اور کراہتے رہیں گے۔

Ezekiel 7:17

Verse: All hands shall be feeble and all knees shall be weak as water

  • English Explanation: This graphic idiom describes utter terror and helplessness. The people will be completely physically and psychologically paralyzed by fear, unable to fight, flee, or support themselves.

  • Urdu Explanation (تفسیر): یہ تشبیہ شدید خوف اور بے بسی کو ظاہر کرتی ہے۔ لوگ نفسیاتی اور جسمانی طور پر اس حد تک مفلوج ہو جائیں گے کہ ان میں نہ لڑنے کی طاقت رہے گی اور نہ ہی بھاگنے کی۔

Ezekiel 7:18

Verse: They shall also gird themselves with sackcloth and horror shall cover them and shame shall be upon all faces and baldness upon all their heads

  • English Explanation: These are outward signs of deep mourning, humiliation, and despair in the ancient Near East. Shaving the head (baldness) and wearing sackcloth show that their pride has been completely crushed and replaced by public shame and internal horror.

  • Urdu Explanation (تفسیر): یہ قدیم دور میں شدید ماتم، عاجزی اور مایوسی کی بیرونی نشانیاں ہیں۔ ٹاٹ اوڑھنا اور سر منڈوانا (گنجا پن) اس بات کو ظاہر کرتا ہے کہ ان کا تکبر ختم ہو چکا ہے اور اب صرف رسوائی ان کا مقدر ہے۔

Ezekiel 7:19

Verse: They shall cast their silver in the streets and their gold shall be removed their silver and their gold shall not be able to deliver them in the day of the wrath of the LORD they shall not satisfy their souls neither fill their bowels because it is the stumblingblock of their iniquity

  • English Explanation: Wealth becomes useless during divine wrath. The people will throw away their gold and silver because it cannot buy food during the famine, nor can it bribe the enemy. Their wealth, which was once the source of their sin and false security (stumblingblock), is now revealed to be entirely worthless.

  • Urdu Explanation (تفسیر): خدا کے قہر کے دن دولت بے کار ہو جائے گی۔ لوگ اپنے سونے چاندی کو گلیوں میں پھینک دیں گے کیونکہ اس سے نہ تو قحط میں کھانا خریدا جا سکے گا اور نہ ہی دشمن سے جان چھڑائی جا سکے گی۔ وہ مال جو کبھی ان کے گناہ اور جھوٹی سیکیورٹی کا سبب تھا اب مٹی کے برابر ہو جائے گا۔

Ezekiel 7:20

Verse: As for the beauty of his ornament he set it in majesty but they made the images of their abominations and of their detestable things therein therefore have I set it far from them

  • English Explanation: “The beauty of his ornament” refers to the beautiful Temple of Jerusalem and the gold dedicated to God. Instead of using these blessings to glorify God, the people used them to manufacture idols. Consequently, God will abandon the Temple and allow it to be destroyed and removed from them.

  • Urdu Explanation (تفسیر): “خوبصورت زیور” سے مراد یروشلم کی خوبصورت ہیکل اور وہ سونا ہے جو خدا کے لیے وقف تھا۔ لوگوں نے ان برکات کا شکر ادا کرنے کے بجائے ان سے بت بنا لیے۔ اسی لیے خدا اب اس ہیکل کو چھوڑ دے گا اور اسے تباہ ہونے دے گا۔

Ezekiel 7:21

Verse: And I will give it into the hands of the strangers for a prey and to the wicked of the earth for a spoil and they shall pollute it

  • English Explanation: God decrees that the Temple, which the Jews treated profanely through idolatry, will now be physically defiled and plundered by foreign invaders (the Babylonians), who will treat it as mere wartime plunder.

  • Urdu Explanation (تفسیر): خداوند فرماتا ہے کہ جس ہیکل کو یہودیوں نے بت پرستی سے ناپاک کیا تھا اب وہ غیر قوموں (بابل کے لوگوں) کے ہاتھوں لٹ جائے گی اور وہ اسے ایک عام غنیمت کا مال سمجھ کر پامال کریں گے۔

Ezekiel 7:22

Verse: My face will I turn also from them and they shall pollute my secret place for the robbers shall enter into it and defile it

  • English Explanation: God will deliberately look away and withdraw His protective presence. As a result, foreign “robbers” will enter the Most Holy Place (the secret place)—a zone restricted only to the High Priest—and completely desecrate it without divine intervention.

  • Urdu Explanation (تفسیر): خداوند اپنا منہ ان سے موڑ لے گا اور اپنی حفاظت کا سایہ ہٹا لے گا۔ اس کا نتیجہ یہ ہوگا کہ غیر قوم کے لٹیرے اس پاک ترین جگہ (پاک ترین مقام) میں داخل ہو جائیں گے جہاں صرف سردار کاہن کو جانے کی اجازت تھی اور اسے ناپاک کر دیں گے۔

Ezekiel 7:23

Verse: Make a chain for the land is full of bloody crimes and the city is full of violence

  • English Explanation: The command to “make a chain” is a symbolic prophetic action representing captivity and exile. The chain is necessary because the legal system has failed; the land is rampant with capital crimes, injustice, and violent bloodshed.

  • Urdu Explanation (تفسیر): “زنجیر بنانے” کا حکم ایک علامتی عمل ہے جو غلامی اور جلاوطنی کو ظاہر کرتا ہے۔ یہ زنجیر اس لیے تیار کی جا رہی ہے کیونکہ ملک ناانصافی، خونریزی اور ظلم و ستم سے بھر چکا ہے۔

Ezekiel 7:24

Verse: Wherefore I will bring the worst of the heathen and they shall possess their houses I will also make the pomp of the strong to cease and their holy places shall be defiled

  • English Explanation: God will use the ruthless Babylonian empire (“the worst of the heathen”) as His instrument of judgment. They will seize Jewish homes, destroy the proud elites’ arrogance, and completely desecrate Israel’s religious sanctuaries.

  • Urdu Explanation (تفسیر): خداوند ظالم اور بے رحم قوموں (بابلیوں) کو سزا کا ذریعہ بنا کر لائے گا جو ان کے گھروں پر قبضہ کر لیں گی۔ وہ مغرور لوگوں کے گھمنڈ کو خاک میں ملا دیں گے اور ان کی پاک جگہوں کو ناپاک کر دیں گے۔

Ezekiel 7:25

Verse: Destruction cometh and they shall seek peace and there shall be none

  • English Explanation: As total ruin approaches, the people will desperately seek peace through political alliances or false prophets. However, because judgment has been finalized by God, all efforts to find safety or peace will completely fail.

  • Urdu Explanation (تفسیر): جب مکمل تباہی سر پر آ جائے گی تو لوگ سیاسی اتحادوں یا جھوٹے نبیوں کے ذریعے امن کی تلاش کریں گے لیکن چونکہ خدا کا فیصلہ آ چکا ہے اس لیے انہیں کہیں بھی امن و سلامتی نصیب نہیں ہوگی۔

Ezekiel 7:26

Verse: Mischief shall come upon mischief and rumour shall be upon rumour then shall they seek a vision of the prophet but the law shall perish from the priest and counsel from the ancients

  • English Explanation: Calamities and terrifying rumors of war will strike consecutively. In panic, the people will turn to spiritual leaders for guidance, but God will silence them: prophets will receive no visions, priests will forget the Law, and elders will have no wisdom to offer.

  • Urdu Explanation (تفسیر): مصیبت پر مصیبت آئے گی اور جنگ کی ہولناک افواہیں گرم ہوں گی۔ گھبراہٹ میں لوگ روحانی رہنماؤں کی طرف بھاگیں گے لیکن خدا کی طرف سے خاموشی ہوگی۔ نبیوں کو کوئی رویا نہیں ملے گی کاہن شریعت بھول جائیں گے اور بزرگوں کی عقل ماری جائے گی۔

Ezekiel 7:27

Verse: The king shall mourn and the prince shall be clothed with desolation and the hands of the people of the land shall be troubled I will do unto them after their way and according to their deserts will I judge them and they shall know that I am the LORD

  • English Explanation: Society will break down completely from the top leadership down to the common citizens. The king, princes, and everyday people will all be paralyzed by despair. God concludes by stating that His judgment is perfectly fair—reflecting their exact conduct—so that they will ultimately recognize His supreme sovereignty.

  • Urdu Explanation (تفسیر): بادشاہ سے لے کر عام شہری تک پورا معاشرہ مایوسی کا شکار ہو جائے گا۔ بادشاہ ماتم کرے گا شہزادے پریشانی کا لباس پہنیں گے اور عام لوگوں کے ہاتھ کانپیں گے۔ خدا فرماتا ہے کہ وہ ان کے اعمال کے مطابق ہی ان کی عدالت کرے گا تاکہ وہ جان لیں کہ وہی خداوند ہے۔
