
Genesis Chapter 11: The Lineage of Shem Continued
Ge 11:17 Verse: And Eber lived after he begat Peleg four hundred and thirty years and begat sons and daughters English: This confirms the long life of Eber after the birth of Peleg, continuing the Semitic line. Urdu: یہ آیت فلج کی پیدائش کے بعد عبر کی طویل زندگی کی تصدیق کرتی ہے جس سے سامی نسل کا تسلسل برقرار رہا۔
Ge 11:18-19 Verse: And Peleg lived thirty years and begat Reu And Peleg lived after he begat Reu two hundred and nine years and begat sons and daughters English: The lineage moves to Reu. We notice a gradual decline in human lifespans after the Flood. Urdu: شجرہ نسب رُعو کی طرف منتقل ہوتا ہے۔ ہم دیکھتے ہیں کہ سیلاب کے بعد انسانی عمروں میں بتدریج کمی واقع ہو رہی ہے۔
Ge 11:20-21 Verse: And Reu lived two and thirty years and begat Serug And Reu lived after he begat Serug two hundred and seven years and begat sons and daughters English: Reu’s life and the birth of Serug are recorded as the generations progress toward Abram. Urdu: رُعو کی زندگی اور سرُوج کی پیدائش کا ریکارڈ ہے جیسے جیسے نسلیں ابرام کی طرف بڑھ رہی ہیں۔
Ge 11:22-23 Verse: And Serug lived thirty years and begat Nahor And Serug lived after he begat Nahor two hundred years and begat sons and daughters English: Serug fathers Nahor, continuing the specific line chosen by God for the future covenant. Urdu: سرُوج سے نحور پیدا ہوا جو خدا کے مستقبل کے عہد کے لیے منتخب کردہ مخصوص نسل کو آگے بڑھاتا ہے۔
Ge 11:24-25 Verse: And Nahor lived nine and twenty years and begat Terah And Nahor lived after he begat Terah an hundred and nineteen years and begat sons and daughters English: Nahor becomes the father of Terah, who would eventually move the family out of Ur. Urdu: نحور تارح کا باپ بنا جس نے بعد میں خاندان کو اُور شہر سے منتقل کیا۔
Ge 11:26 Verse: And Terah lived seventy years and begat Abram Nahor and Haran English: This is a crucial verse introducing Abram, the central figure of faith in the Old Testament. Urdu: یہ ایک اہم آیت ہے جو ابرام کو متعارف کرواتی ہے جو عہدِ عتیق میں ایمان کی مرکزی شخصیت ہیں۔
Ge 11:27-28 Verse: Now these are the generations of Terah Terah begat Abram Nahor and Haran and Haran begat Lot And Haran died before his father Terah in the land of his nativity in Ur of the Chaldees English: This establishes the family structure and notes the early death of Haran, Lot’s father, in Mesopotamia. Urdu: یہاں تارح کے خاندان کی ساخت بیان کی گئی ہے اور ہاران (لوط کے باپ) کی اپنے والد کی زندگی میں وفات کا ذکر ہے۔
Ge 11:29-30 Verse: And Abram and Nahor took them wives the name of Abram’s wife was Sarai and the name of Nahor’s wife Milcah the daughter of Haran the father of Milcah and the father of Iscah But Sarai was barren she had no child English: Introduces Sarai and highlights her barrenness, which sets the stage for God’s miraculous promise. Urdu: سارہ کو متعارف کرایا گیا ہے اور ان کے بانجھ پن کا ذکر ہے جو خدا کے معجزانہ وعدے کے لیے پس منظر تیار کرتا ہے۔
Ge 11:31-32 Verse: And Terah took Abram his son and Lot the son of Haran his son’s son and Sarai his daughter in law his son Abram’s wife and they went forth with them from Ur of the Chaldees to go into the land of Canaan and they came unto Haran and dwelt there And the days of Terah were two hundred and five years and Terah died in Haran English: The family begins their migration toward Canaan but stops in Haran, where Terah eventually passes away. Urdu: خاندان نے کنعان کی طرف ہجرت شروع کی لیکن حاران میں رک گئے جہاں تارح کا انتقال ہوا۔
Genesis Chapter 12: The Call of Abram
Ge 12:1 Verse: Now the LORD had said unto Abram Get thee out of thy country and from thy kindred and from thy father’s house unto a land that I will shew thee English: God calls Abram to leave everything familiar and follow Him to an unknown land by faith. Urdu: خدا نے ابرام کو سب کچھ چھوڑنے اور ایمان کے ساتھ ایک نامعلوم ملک کی طرف جانے کا حکم دیا۔
Ge 12:2-3 Verse: And I will make of thee a great nation and I will bless thee and make thy name great and thou shalt be a blessing And I will bless them that bless thee and curse him that curseth thee and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed English: The “Abrahamic Covenant” is established, promising national greatness and a universal blessing through his lineage (Jesus Christ). Urdu: “ابراہیمی عہد” قائم ہوا جس میں قومی عظمت اور ان کی نسل (یسوع مسیح) کے ذریعے تمام خاندانوں کے لیے برکت کا وعدہ کیا گیا۔
Ge 12:4-5 Verse: So Abram departed as the LORD had spoken unto him and Lot went with him and Abram was seventy and five years old when he departed out of Haran And Abram took Sarai his wife and Lot his brother’s son and all their substance… English: At 75, Abram demonstrates radical obedience by leaving Haran with his household and possessions. Urdu: پچھتر سال کی عمر میں ابرام نے اپنے گھرانے اور مال و متاع کے ساتھ حاران چھوڑ کر مکمل فرمانبرداری کا ثبوت دیا۔
Ge 12:6-7 Verse: And Abram passed through the land unto the place of Sichem unto the plain of Moreh And the Canaanite was then in the land And the LORD appeared unto Abram and said Unto thy seed will I give this land… English: Upon reaching Canaan, God appears to Abram to confirm that this specific land is the promised inheritance for his descendants. Urdu: کنعان پہنچنے پر خدا نے ابرام پر ظاہر ہو کر تصدیق کی کہ یہی وہ زمین ہے جو ان کی نسل کو دی جائے گی۔
Ge 12:8-9 Verse: And he removed from thence unto a mountain on the east of Bethel… and there he builded an altar unto the LORD and called upon the name of the LORD And Abram journeyed going on still toward the south English: Abram establishes places of worship (altars) as he travels, acknowledging God’s presence in his new home. Urdu: ابرام نے سفر کے دوران عبادت گاہیں (قربان گاہیں) بنائیں اور اپنے نئے گھر میں خدا کی موجودگی کا اعتراف کیا۔
Ge 12:10 Verse: And there was a famine in the land and Abram went down into Egypt to sojourn there for the famine was grievous in the land English: A severe famine tests Abram’s faith, leading him to seek refuge in Egypt. Urdu: ایک شدید قحط نے ابرام کے ایمان کا امتحان لیا جس کی وجہ سے انہوں نے مصر میں پناہ لی۔
Ge 12:11-13 Verse: …Say I pray thee thou art my sister that it may be well with me for thy sake and my soul shall live because of thee English: Out of fear for his life, Abram asks Sarai to identify as his sister (a half-truth) to avoid being killed by the Egyptians. Urdu: اپنی جان کے خوف سے ابرام نے سارہ سے کہا کہ وہ خود کو ان کی بہن ظاہر کریں تاکہ مصری انہیں قتل نہ کریں۔
Ge 12:14-16 Verse: …And the woman was taken into Pharaoh’s house And he entreated Abram well for her sake and he had sheep and oxen… English: Sarai’s beauty leads her to Pharaoh’s palace; consequently, Abram is treated well and gains great wealth. Urdu: سارہ کی خوبصورتی کی وجہ سے انہیں فرعون کے محل میں لے جایا گیا اور اس کے بدلے ابرام کو بہت سا مال و مویشی ملا۔
Ge 12:17 Verse: And the LORD plagued Pharaoh and his house with great plagues because of Sarai Abram’s wife English: God intervenes divinely to protect Sarai and the purity of the promised line by striking Pharaoh’s household. Urdu: خدا نے سارہ اور اس پاک نسل کی حفاظت کے لیے فرعون کے گھرانے پر بلائیں بھیج کر مداخلت کی۔
