Mark 1:11

Mark 1:12

Mark 1:42
Verse: And as soon as he had spoken immediately the leprosy departed from him and he was cleansed

Mark 1:43
Verse: And he straitly charged him and forthwith sent him away
English Explanation:
Jesus issues a stern, urgent warning to the cleansed man. He does not want the man to misuse his healing for sensationalism or political misunderstandings regarding the nature of the Messiah.

Mark 1:44
Verse: And saith unto him See thou say nothing to any man but go thy way shew thyself to the priest and offer for thy cleansing those things which Moses commanded for a testimony unto them

Jesus commands obedience to the Mosaic Law (Leviticus 14), instructing the man to get validated by the priests. This official validation would allow the man to re-enter society legally, while serving as a powerful testimony to the religious leaders that a great Prophet was among them.

Mark 1:45
Verse: But he went out and began to publish it much and to blaze abroad the matter insomuch that Jesus could no more openly enter into the city but was without in desert places and they came to him from every quarter

Mark 2:1
Verse: And again he entered into Capernaum after some days and it was noised that he was in the house

Mark 2:2
Verse: And straightway many were gathered together insomuch that there was no room to receive them no not so much as about the door and he preached the word unto them

Mark 2:3
Verse: And they come unto him bringing one sick of the palsy which was borne of four

Mark 2:4
Verse: And when they could not come nigh unto him for the press they uncovered the roof where he was and when they had broken it up they let down the bed wherein the sick of the palsy lay

Faced with an impenetrable barrier (the heavy crowd), their faith sparks creative and radical action. They climb the exterior staircase, dismantle the clay-and-tile roof of the house, and lower the paralyzed man directly in front of Jesus.
