English Explanation
This is the great spiritual paradox of the Kingdom. If you protect your earthly life by compromising your faith to avoid trouble, you will lose true, eternal life. But if you willingly lay down your life, desires, and security for Jesus, you will secure life eternal.

English Explanation
Jesus closes His discourse by comforting His disciples. They are His authorized ambassadors. When a town or person welcomes, feeds, or listens to an apostle, they are spiritually welcoming Jesus Himself, and by extension, welcoming God the Father who sent Jesus.
