Numbers 11:23

Verse: And the LORD said unto Moses Is the LORD’s hand waxed short? thou shalt see now whether my word shall come to pass unto thee or not.

  • English Explanation: God rebukes Moses’ doubt by asking if His power has diminished. It is a reminder that the Creator of the universe is never limited by physical circumstances.

  • Urdu Explanation: خدا نے موسیٰ سے کہا کہ کیا خداوند کا ہاتھ چھوٹا ہو گیا ہے؟ یہ آیت خدا کی لامحدود قدرت کو ظاہر کرتی ہے اور ہمیں سکھاتی ہے کہ خدا کے لیے کچھ بھی ناممکن نہیں۔

Numbers 11:24

Verse: And Moses went out and told the people the words of the LORD and gathered the seventy men of the elders of the people and set them round about the tabernacle.

  • English Explanation: Moses obeys by organizing the leadership structure God requested, placing the elders around the Tabernacle to receive the Spirit.

  • Urdu Explanation: موسیٰ نے خدا کے حکم کی تعمیل کی اور ستر بزرگوں کو جمع کیا تاکہ وہ خدا کی حضوری میں رہنمائی حاصل کر سکیں۔

Numbers 11:25

Verse: And the LORD came down in a cloud and spake unto him and took of the spirit that was upon him and gave it unto the seventy elders and it came to pass that when the spirit rested upon them they prophesied and did not cease.

  • English Explanation: God shares the spiritual burden by putting the same Spirit that was on Moses onto the elders, empowering them to prophesy.

  • Urdu Explanation: خداوند بادل میں نازل ہوا اور وہی روح جو موسیٰ پر تھی ان بزرگوں کو عطا کی جس کے بعد انہوں نے نبوت کرنا شروع کی۔

Numbers 11:26

Verse: But there remained two of the men in the camp the name of the one was Eldad and the name of the other Medad and the spirit rested upon them and they were of them that were written but went not out unto the tabernacle and they prophesied in the camp.

  • English Explanation: God’s Spirit is not confined to a building; Eldad and Medad received the Spirit and prophesied even while staying in the camp.

  • Urdu Explanation: الداد اور میداد خیمہ گاہ ہی میں رہے لیکن روح ان پر بھی نازل ہوئی اور انہوں نے وہیں نبوت کی۔ یہ ظاہر کرتا ہے کہ خدا کی روح جگہ کی محتاج نہیں۔

Numbers 11:27 – 11:28

Verse 27: And there ran a young man and told Moses and said Eldad and Medad do prophesy in the camp. Verse 28: And Joshua the son of Nun the servant of Moses one of his young men answered and said My lord Moses forbid them.

  • English Explanation: Joshua, out of loyalty to Moses, felt protective and wanted to stop the two men, fearing a threat to Moses’ unique authority.

  • Urdu Explanation: یشوع نے وفاداری میں موسیٰ سے کہا کہ انہیں روک دیں کیونکہ وہ اسے موسیٰ کی قیادت کے لیے خطرہ سمجھ رہے تھے۔

Numbers 11:29 – 11:30

Verse 29: And Moses said unto him Enviest thou for my sake? would God that all the LORD’s people were prophets and that the LORD would put his spirit upon them! Verse 30: And Moses gat him into the camp he and the elders of Israel.

  • English Explanation: Moses displays incredible humility, wishing that everyone could experience the Spirit of God rather than seeking exclusive power.

  • Urdu Explanation: موسیٰ نے حلیمی کا ثبوت دیتے ہوئے کہا کہ کاش سب لوگ نبی ہوتے۔ انہوں نے اپنی ذات کے بجائے خدا کے جلال کو ترجیح دی۔

Numbers 11:31 – 11:32

Verse 31: And there went forth a wind from the LORD and brought quails from the sea and let them fall by the camp… Verse 32: And the people stood up all that day and all that night… and they gathered the quails…

  • English Explanation: God fulfills His promise to provide meat, but the people’s greed is evident in how excessively they gather the quails.

  • Urdu Explanation: خدا نے بٹیروں کی کثرت بھیجی لیکن لوگوں نے لالچ میں آکر بہت زیادہ ذخیرہ کر لیا۔

Numbers 11:33 – 11:35

Verse 33: And while the flesh was yet between their teeth ere it was chewed the wrath of the LORD was kindled… Verse 34: And he called the name of that place Kibroth-hattaavah… Verse 35: And the people journeyed from Kibroth-hattaavah unto Hazeroth…

  • English Explanation: Judgment follows greed. The place is named “Graves of Craving” because their uncontrolled desires led to their downfall.

  • Urdu Explanation: لالچ کا انجام موت ٹھہرا۔ اس مقام کا نام قبروت ہتاوہ رکھا گیا کیونکہ وہاں ہوس کرنے والے دفن ہوئے۔

Numbers 12:1 – 12:3

Verse 1: And Miriam and Aaron spake against Moses because of the Ethiopian woman whom he had married… Verse 2: And they said Hath the LORD indeed spoken only by Moses? … Verse 3: (Now the man Moses was very meek above all the men which were upon the face of the earth.)

  • English Explanation: Miriam and Aaron challenge Moses’ authority using his marriage as an excuse. The Bible highlights Moses’ meekness—he did not defend himself; God did.

  • Urdu Explanation: مریم اور ہارون نے موسیٰ کی قیادت پر اعتراض کیا۔ موسیٰ زمین پر سب سے زیادہ حلیم انسان تھے اور انہوں نے خود اپنا دفاع نہیں کیا۔

Numbers 12:4 – 12:8

Verse 8: With him will I speak mouth to mouth even apparently and not in dark speeches… wherefore then were ye not afraid to speak against my servant Moses?

  • English Explanation: God intervenes directly, explaining that Moses has a unique, face-to-face relationship with Him that differs from other prophets.

  • Urdu Explanation: خدا نے واضح کیا کہ موسیٰ کا مقام بلند ہے اور وہ ان سے روبرو بات کرتا ہے۔ خدا نے ان کی شکایت پر ناراضگی کا اظہار کیا۔

Numbers 12:9 – 12:13

Verse 10: And the cloud departed… and behold Miriam became leprous white as snow… Verse 13: And Moses cried unto the LORD saying Heal her now O God I beseech thee.

  • English Explanation: Miriam is struck with leprosy as judgment. Showing his character, Moses immediately prays for the healing of the one who attacked him.

  • Urdu Explanation: مریم کو کوڑھ ہو گیا لیکن موسیٰ نے بدلہ لینے کے بجائے ان کی شفا کے لیے دعا کی۔

Numbers 12:14 – 12:16

Verse 14: And the LORD said… let her be shut out from the camp seven days… Verse 15: And Miriam was shut out from the camp seven days and the people journeyed not till Miriam was brought in again.

  • English Explanation: Though forgiven, Miriam had to face the consequence of being outside the camp for seven days for purification.

  • Urdu Explanation: توبہ کے باوجود مریم کو سات دن کیمپ سے باہر رہنا پڑا جو کہ گناہ کے نتائج کی عکاسی کرتا ہے۔ اس کے بعد وہ آگے بڑھے۔
