Numbers Chapter 27: Verses 9-23

Verse 9

Verse: And if he have no daughter then ye shall give his inheritance unto his brethren English Explanation: This verse continues the laws of land distribution. If a man dies without a son or a daughter, his brothers become the rightful heirs to ensure the land remains within the immediate family line. Urdu Explanation: اگر کسی شخص کی بیٹی بھی نہ ہو تو اس کی میراث اس کے بھائیوں کو دے دی جائے گی تاکہ جائیداد خاندان کے اندر ہی رہے۔

Verse 10

Verse: And if he have no brethren then ye shall give his inheritance unto his father’s brethren English Explanation: If the deceased has no siblings, the inheritance moves upward to the father’s side, passing to the paternal uncles. Urdu Explanation: اور اگر اس کے بھائی بھی نہ ہوں تو اس کی میراث اس کے والد کے بھائیوں (چچاؤں) کو دی جائے گی۔

Verse 11

Verse: And if his father have no brethren then ye shall give his inheritance unto his kinsman that is next to him of his family and he shall possess it and it shall be unto the children of Israel a statute of judgment as the LORD commanded Moses English Explanation: The law expands to the nearest blood relative if no immediate family exists. This established a permanent legal precedent (statute of judgment) for Israel. Urdu Explanation: اگر والد کے بھائی بھی نہ ہوں تو میراث قریبی رشتہ دار کو ملے گی۔ یہ بنی اسرائیل کے لیے ایک مستقل قانونی فیصلہ قرار دیا گیا۔

Verse 12

Verse: And the LORD said unto Moses Get thee up into this mount Abarim and see the land which I have given unto the children of Israel English Explanation: God instructs Moses to ascend Mount Abarim to view the Promised Land, signifying that his time as leader is coming to an end. Urdu Explanation: خداوند نے موسیٰ سے کہا کہ اباریم کے پہاڑ پر چڑھ جاؤ اور اس سرزمین کا نظارہ کرو جو میں نے بنی اسرائیل کو دی ہے۔

Verse 13

Verse: And when thou hast seen it thou also shalt be gathered unto thy people as Aaron thy brother was gathered English Explanation: God informs Moses that after seeing the land, he will die, just as his brother Aaron did. Urdu Explanation: جب تم اسے دیکھ لو گے تو تم بھی اپنے لوگوں میں جا ملو گے (وفات پا جاؤ گے) جیسے تمہارا بھائی ہارون رخصت ہوا۔

Verse 14

Verse: For ye rebelled against my commandment in the desert of Zin in the strife of the congregation to sanctify me at the water before their eyes that is the water of Meribah in Kadesh in the wilderness of Zin English Explanation: God reminds Moses why he cannot enter the land: the incident at Meribah where Moses failed to uphold God’s holiness before the people. Urdu Explanation: خدا نے موسیٰ کو وہ وقت یاد دلایا جب انہوں نے مریبہ کے چشمے پر خدا کے حکم کی عدولی کی تھی جس کی وجہ سے وہ سرزمین میں داخل نہیں ہو سکتے تھے۔

Verse 15

Verse: And Moses spake unto the LORD saying English Explanation: Instead of pleading for his own life, Moses immediately turns his concern toward the future of the people. Urdu Explanation: موسیٰ نے اپنی زندگی کی فکر کرنے کے بجائے اپنی قوم کے مستقبل کے لیے خداوند سے کلام کیا۔

Verse 16

Verse: Let the LORD the God of the spirits of all flesh set a man over the congregation English Explanation: Moses asks God, who understands the hearts of all men, to appoint a new leader. Urdu Explanation: موسیٰ نے دعا کی کہ اے خداوند تمام روحوں کے مالک اس جماعت پر ایک نیا رہنما مقرر کر دے۔

Verse 17

Verse: Which may go out before them and which may go in before them and which may lead them out and which may bring them in that the congregation of the LORD be not as sheep which have no shepherd English Explanation: Moses emphasizes the need for an active leader so the people do not become like wandering sheep without a shepherd. Urdu Explanation: ایک ایسا رہنما جو ان کی قیادت کرے تاکہ خداوند کی جماعت ان بھیڑوں کی طرح نہ ہو جائے جن کا کوئی چرواہا نہیں ہوتا۔

Verse 18

Verse: And the LORD said unto Moses Take thee Joshua the son of Nun a man in whom is the spirit and lay thine hand upon him English Explanation: God chooses Joshua, noting that the Spirit is already within him, and instructs Moses to formally commission him. Urdu Explanation: خداوند نے یشوع بن نون کو منتخب کیا کیونکہ وہ ایک روحانی انسان تھے اور موسیٰ کو حکم دیا کہ ان پر ہاتھ رکھ کر انہیں نامزد کریں۔

Verse 19

Verse: And set him before Eleazar the priest and before all the congregation and give him a charge in their sight English Explanation: Joshua was to be presented publicly before the High Priest and the people to ensure a transparent transfer of authority. Urdu Explanation: یشوع کو الیعزر کاہن اور پوری جماعت کے سامنے کھڑا کیا جائے تاکہ سب کی موجودگی میں اسے ذمہ داری سونپی جائے۔

Verse 20

Verse: And thou shalt put some of thine honour upon him that all the congregation of the children of Israel may be obedient English Explanation: Moses was to delegate some of his authority to Joshua immediately so the people would begin to respect and obey him. Urdu Explanation: موسیٰ کو اپنی بزرگی کا کچھ حصہ یشوع کو دینا تھا تاکہ بنی اسرائیل اس کی فرمانبرداری کریں۔

Verse 21

Verse: And he shall stand before Eleazar the priest who shall ask counsel for him after the judgment of Urim before the LORD at his word shall they go out and at his word they shall come in both he and all the children of Israel with him even all the congregation English Explanation: Joshua’s leadership would involve consulting the High Priest, who used the Urim to seek God’s will for national decisions. Urdu Explanation: یشوع کو الیعزر کاہن کے ذریعے خدا کی مرضی معلوم کرنی ہوگی اور اسی کی ہدایت پر پوری قوم عمل کرے گی۔

Verse 22

Verse: And Moses did as the LORD commanded him and he took Joshua and set him before Eleazar the priest and before all the congregation English Explanation: Moses obediently followed God’s instructions, demonstrating his humility and faithfulness. Urdu Explanation: موسیٰ نے خداوند کے حکم کے مطابق یشوع کو کاہن اور جماعت کے سامنے پیش کیا۔

Verse 23

Verse: And he laid his hands upon him and gave him a charge as the LORD commanded by the hand of Moses English Explanation: By laying hands on Joshua, the transfer of leadership was completed as ordained by God. Urdu Explanation: موسیٰ نے یشوع پر ہاتھ رکھے اور اسے وہ ذمہ داری سونپی جس کا حکم خداوند نے دیا تھا۔


Numbers Chapter 28: Verses 1-16

Verse 1

Verse: And the LORD spake unto Moses saying English Explanation: A new section begins where God provides specific instructions regarding religious offerings. Urdu Explanation: خداوند نے موسیٰ سے کلام کرتے ہوئے احکامات جاری کیے۔

Verse 2

Verse: Command the children of Israel and say unto them My offering and my bread for my sacrifices made by fire for a sweet savour unto me shall ye observe to offer unto me in their due season English Explanation: God reminds Israel to be punctual and faithful in bringing their offerings at the appointed times. Urdu Explanation: بنی اسرائیل کو حکم دیا گیا کہ وہ خدا کے حضور نذرانے اور قربانیاں مقررہ وقت پر پیش کریں۔

Verse 3

Verse: And thou shalt say unto them This is the offering made by fire which ye shall offer unto the LORD two lambs of the first year without spot day by day for a continual burnt offering English Explanation: This outlines the daily sacrifice: two perfect one-year-old lambs offered every single day. Urdu Explanation: روزانہ کی قربانی کے لیے ایک سال کے دو بے عیب برے پیش کرنے کا حکم دیا گیا۔

Verse 4

Verse: The one lamb shalt thou offer in the morning and the other lamb shalt thou offer at even English Explanation: One lamb was to be sacrificed at sunrise and the other at sunset to maintain a constant state of worship. Urdu Explanation: ایک برہ صبح کے وقت اور دوسرا شام کے وقت قربان کیا جانا تھا۔

Verse 5

Verse: And a tenth part of an ephah of flour for a meat offering mingled with the fourth part of an hin of beaten oil English Explanation: The animal sacrifice was accompanied by a grain offering of fine flour mixed with high-quality oil. Urdu Explanation: گوشت کی قربانی کے ساتھ آٹے اور تیل کی نذرانہ بھی شامل تھا۔

Verse 6

Verse: It is a continual burnt offering which was ordained in mount Sinai for a sweet savour a sacrifice made by fire unto the LORD English Explanation: This daily ritual was a continuation of the laws first established at Mount Sinai. Urdu Explanation: یہ وہ مستقل سوختنی قربانی ہے جس کا حکم کوہِ سینا پر دیا گیا تھا۔

Verse 7

Verse: And the drink offering thereof shall be the fourth part of an hin for the one lamb in the holy place shalt thou cause the strong wine to be poured unto the LORD for a drink offering English Explanation: A wine offering was poured out in the Sanctuary alongside the sacrifice. Urdu Explanation: ہر برے کے ساتھ مے (شراب) کا نذرانہ بھی مقدس جگہ پر پیش کیا جانا تھا۔

Verse 8

Verse: And the other lamb shalt thou offer at even as the meat offering of the morning and as the drink offering thereof thou shalt offer it a sacrifice made by fire of a sweet savour unto the LORD English Explanation: The evening sacrifice followed the exact same pattern and measurements as the morning sacrifice. Urdu Explanation: شام کی قربانی بھی بالکل صبح کی قربانی کے معیار کے مطابق ہونی تھی۔

Verse 9

Verse: And on the sabbath day two lambs of the first year without spot and two tenth deals of flour for a meat offering mingled with oil and the drink offering thereof English Explanation: On the Sabbath, the offerings were doubled, requiring two additional lambs. Urdu Explanation: سبت کے دن دو مزید بے عیب برے اور نذرانے پیش کرنے کا حکم تھا۔

Verse 10

Verse: This is the burnt offering of every sabbath beside the continental burnt offering and his drink offering English Explanation: The Sabbath offering was in addition to, not instead of, the regular daily sacrifices. Urdu Explanation: یہ سبت کی وہ قربانی ہے جو روزانہ کی مستقل قربانی کے علاوہ دی جانی تھی۔

Verse 11

Verse: And in the beginnings of your months ye shall offer a burnt offering unto the LORD two young bullocks and one ram seven lambs of the first year without spot English Explanation: Special sacrifices were required at the start of every month, involving bulls, a ram, and seven lambs. Urdu Explanation: ہر مہینے کے آغاز پر دو بیلوں، ایک مینڈھے اور سات بروں کی قربانی کا حکم دیا گیا۔

Verse 12

Verse: And three tenth deals of flour for a meat offering mingled with oil for one bullock and two tenth deals of flour for a meat offering mingled with oil for one ram English Explanation: Specific amounts of grain offerings were designated for each type of animal sacrificed. Urdu Explanation: بیل اور مینڈھے کے ساتھ آٹے اور تیل کے نذرانے کی مقدار مقرر کی گئی۔

Verse 13

Verse: And a several tenth deal of flour mingled with oil for a meat offering unto one lamb for a burnt offering of a sweet savour a sacrifice made by fire unto the LORD English Explanation: Each lamb also had its specific portion of flour and oil to ensure the sacrifice was complete. Urdu Explanation: ہر برے کے لیے الگ سے نذرانہ تیار کر کے خدا کے حضور پیش کیا جاتا تھا۔

Verse 14

Verse: And their drink offerings shall be half an hin of wine unto a bullock and the third part of an hin unto a ram and a fourth part of an hin unto a lamb this is the burnt offering of every month throughout the months of the year English Explanation: This verse details the exact amount of wine for each animal sacrificed at the start of the month. Urdu Explanation: یہ سال کے ہر مہینے کی مستقل قربانی کے لیے مے کے نذرانے کی تفصیل ہے۔

Verse 15

Verse: And one kid of the goats for a sin offering unto the LORD shall be offered beside the continual burnt offering and his drink offering English Explanation: A goat was added as a sin offering to seek atonement for the nation’s sins each month. Urdu Explanation: ماہانہ قربانیوں کے ساتھ گناہ کی قربانی کے طور پر ایک بکرا بھی پیش کیا جانا تھا۔

Verse 16

Verse: And in the fourteenth day of the first month is the passover of the LORD English Explanation: This marks the beginning of the instructions for the Passover, celebrated on the 14th day of the first month. Urdu Explanation: پہلے مہینے کے چودھویں دن خداوند کی عیدِ فسح منائی جاتی ہے۔
