Revelation 21:3
Verse: And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying Behold the tabernacle of God is with men and he will dwell with them and they shall be his people and God himself shall be with them and be their God
English Explanation: This verse announces the ultimate fulfillment of God’s covenant with humanity. The “tabernacle” signifies God’s permanent dwelling place. Instead of humanity reaching up to heaven, God brings His presence down to earth to live intimately with His people, erasing the separation caused by sin.

Revelation 21:4
Verse: And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes and there shall be no more death neither sorrow nor crying neither shall there be any more pain for the former things are passed away
English Explanation: A beautiful promise of complete restoration. The physical and emotional suffering of the old world—death, grief, and pain—will be completely abolished. God gently removes the memory of sorrow, marking the definitive end of the fallen human condition.

Revelation 21:5
Verse: And he that sat upon the throne said Behold I make all things new And he said unto me Write for these words are true and faithful
English Explanation: God Himself speaks directly from His throne, sovereignly declaring a total renewal of creation. The Apostle John is commanded to write this down because God’s promises are completely trustworthy, infallible, and guaranteed to happen.

Revelation 21:6
Verse: And he said unto me It is done I am Alpha and Omega the beginning and the end I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely
English Explanation: The phrase “It is done” signifies that God’s redemptive plan has reached its ultimate conclusion. As the Alpha and Omega (the first and last letters of the Greek alphabet), God controls all history. He promises eternal, spiritual satisfaction to anyone who longs for truth and life, completely free of charge.

Revelation 21:7
Verse: He that overcometh shall inherit all things and I will be his God and he shall be my son
English Explanation: This rewards spiritual perseverance. Those who remain faithful through trials and overcome temptations will inherit the entire renewed creation. It also promises an intimate, familial relationship, raising believers to the status of God’s own children.

Revelation 21:8
Verse: But the fearful and unbelieving and the abominable and murderers and whoremongers and sorcerers and idolaters and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone which is the second death
English Explanation: In stark contrast to the inheritors, this verse lists those excluded from the kingdom. It warns that those who choose wickedness, cowardice, faithlessness, and deceit will face eternal separation from God in the lake of fire, known as the second death.

Revelation 21:9
Verse: And there came unto me one of the seven angels which had the seven vials full of the seven last plagues and talked with me saying Come hither I will shew thee the bride the Lamb’s wife
English Explanation: One of the judgment angels invites John to witness a magnificent sight: the Bride of Christ. The Bride represents the fully redeemed and glorified community of believers, symbolizing perfect unity between Christ and His Church.

Revelation 21:10
Verse: And he carried me away in the spirit to a great and high mountain and shewed me that great city the holy Jerusalem descending out of heaven from God

Revelation 21:11
Verse: Having the glory of God and her light was like unto a stone most precious even like a jasper stone clear as crystal
English Explanation: The city is radiating with the brilliant, unhindered presence and glory of God. Its light is compared to a rare, crystalline jasper stone, symbolizing the pure, holy, and dazzling nature of God’s eternal kingdom.

Revelation 21:12
Verse: And had a wall great and high and had twelve gates and at the gates twelve angels and names written thereon which are the names of the twelve tribes of the children of Israel

Revelation 21:13
Verse: On the east three gates on the north three gates on the south three gates and on the west three gates
English Explanation: The symmetrical placement of three gates on each of the four compass directions indicates that the city is perfectly accessible from all corners of the earth. It welcomes redeemed people from every nation, tribe, and direction.

Revelation 21:14
Verse: And the wall of the city had twelve foundations and in them the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb
English Explanation: The foundations of the city wall are inscribed with the names of the twelve apostles. This shows that the New Testament Church and the apostolic teachings about Jesus Christ form the bedrock foundation of God’s eternal dwelling place.

Revelation 21:15
Verse: And he that talked with me had a golden reed to measure the city and the gates thereof and the wall thereof

Revelation 21:16
Verse: And the city lieth foursquare and the length is as large as the breadth and he measured the city with the reed twelve thousand furlongs The length and the breadth and the height of it are equal

Revelation 21:17
Verse: And he measured the wall thereof an hundred and forty and four cubits according to the measure of a man that is of the angel

Verse: And the building of the wall of it was of jasper and the city was pure gold like unto clear glass

Revelation 21:19
Verse: And the foundations of the wall of the city were garnished with all manner of precious stones The first foundation was jasper the second sapphire the third a chalcedony the fourth an emerald

Revelation 21:20
Verse: The fifth sardonyx the sixth sardius the seventh chrysolite the eighth beryl the ninth a topaz the tenth a chrysoprasus the eleventh a jacinth the twelfth an amethyst

Revelation 21:21
Verse: And the twelve gates were twelve pearls every several gate was of one pearl and the street of the city was pure gold as it were transparent glass

Pearls are formed through suffering, symbolizing that entry into this glory came through Christ’s sacrifice. The transparent gold streets show that even the common walkways are holy and pure.

Revelation 21:22
Verse: And I saw no temple therein for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it

Revelation 21:23
Verse: And the city had no need of the sun neither of the moon to shine in it for the glory of God did lighten it and the Lamb is the light thereof

Revelation 21:24
Verse: And the nations of them which are saved shall walk in the light of it and the kings of the earth do bring their glory and honour into it
English Explanation: The saved nations of the world live and walk under God’s divine guidance. Earthly rulers and cultures bring their finest accomplishments, honor, and diversity into the city, fully redeemed and dedicated to God’s service.

Revelation 21:25
Verse: And the gates of it shall not be shut at all by day for there shall be no night there
English Explanation: In ancient times, city gates were shut at night for safety against enemies. The New Jerusalem’s gates never close because there is no night, symbolizing continuous, absolute peace, ultimate safety, and the complete absence of danger or evil.
Urdu Explanation (اردو وضاحت): قدیم زمانے میں شہروں کے دروازے رات کو دشمنوں سے بچاؤ کے لیے بند کر دیے جاتے تھے۔ لیکن اس شہر کے دروازے کبھی بند نہیں ہوں گے کیونکہ وہاں کبھی رات نہیں ہوگی، جو دائمی امن، مکمل تحفظ اور برائی کے خاتمے کی علامت ہے۔
Revelation 21:26
Verse: And they shall bring the glory and honour of the nations into it
English Explanation: This reinforces that everything of true, lasting value, beauty, and righteousness from human history and diverse cultures will be purified and brought into the eternal kingdom to honor God.

Revelation 21:27
Verse: And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth neither whatsoever worketh abomination or maketh a lie but they which are written in the Lamb’s book of life
English Explanation: Absolute holiness is maintained in the city. No sin, corruption, idolatry, or deceit can ever pollute it. Entry is strictly granted only to those whose names are redeemed and written in the Lamb’s Book of Life.

Revelation 22:1
Verse: And he shewed me a pure river of water of life clear as crystal proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb
English Explanation: The angel shows John the source of eternal vitality. The crystal-clear river represents the Holy Spirit and the abundant, unending flow of eternal life and divine blessings that originate directly from the sovereign throne of God and Christ.

Revelation 22:2
Verse: In the midst of the street of it and on either side of the river was there the tree of life which bare twelve manner of fruits and yielded her fruit every month and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations
English Explanation: The Tree of Life, lost in Genesis, is fully restored here. It spans the river, yielding continuous, diverse fruit every month, signifying eternal sustenance. Its leaves provide “healing,” which means maintaining perfect wholeness, peace, and harmony among all nations forever.

Revelation 22:3
Verse: And there shall be no more curse but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it and his servants shall serve him
English Explanation: The curse brought upon creation by sin in Eden is completely abolished. Because God and the Lamb rule directly, the environment is one of absolute blessing. Believers will serve God joyfully, fulfilling their original purpose in perfect communion.
