پیدائش 19:14 حضرت لوطؑ کی زندگی کے ایک نہایت اہم لمحے کو بیان کرتی ہے۔ خدا نے فیصلہ فرمایا تھا کہ سدوم کی بدکاری اپنی انتہا کو پہنچ چکی ہے، اس لیے اس شہر پر عدالت آنے والی تھی۔ مگر عدالت سے پہلے خدا نے رحم کرتے ہوئے حضرت لوطؑ کو موقع دیا کہ وہ اپنے خاندان کو خبردار کریں تاکہ وہ محفوظ مقام پر چلے جائیں۔

1۔ خدا پہلے خبردار کرتا ہے

2۔ ایمان صرف سننے کا نام نہیں
حضرت لوطؑ کے پیغام پر عمل کرنا ضروری تھا۔ صرف بات سن لینا کافی نہیں تھا بلکہ شہر چھوڑنا بھی لازم تھا۔
اسی طرح حقیقی ایمان اکثر عملی فرمانبرداری میں ظاہر ہوتا ہے۔
3۔ سچائی کو معمولی نہ سمجھیں
حضرت لوطؑ کے داماد انہیں جانتے تھے، لیکن اسی واقفیت نے شاید ان کی سنجیدگی کو کم کر دیا۔
کبھی کبھی انسان دینی باتیں بار بار سن کر انہیں معمولی سمجھنے لگتا ہے، حالانکہ وہ انتہائی اہم ہوتی ہیں۔
4۔ تاخیر نقصان کا سبب بن سکتی ہے
یہ آیت سکھاتی ہے کہ صحیح وقت پر درست فیصلہ کرنا بہت ضروری ہے۔ غیر ضروری تاخیر بعض اوقات ایسے نتائج پیدا کر سکتی ہے جن سے بچنا ممکن نہ رہے۔
