پیدائش 9:3 کی یہ آیت طوفانِ نوح کے بعد کے حالات میں بیان کی گئی ہے۔ جب نوح اور ان کا خاندان کشتی سے باہر آئے تو خدا نے ان کے ساتھ ایک نیا عہد قائم کیا اور زندگی کے لیے مختلف ہدایات دیں۔ اسی موقع پر خدا نے انسان کے لیے خوراک کے بارے میں یہ اجازت دی کہ وہ جاندار مخلوقات کو بھی خوراک کے طور پر استعمال کر سکتا ہے۔
