پیدائش (Genesis) 9:13 میں God کے اُس وعدے کا ذکر ہے جو طوفانِ نوح کے بعد کیا گیا۔ جب نوح، اُس کا خاندان اور جانور کشتی سے باہر آئے تو God نے نوح کے ساتھ ایک عہد قائم کیا۔ اس عہد کی نشانی کے طور پر God نے بادل میں قوسِ قزح رکھی۔
آیت میں الفاظ “میں اپنا کمان بادل میں رکھتا ہوں” ایک علامتی بیان ہے۔ یہاں “کمان” سے مراد قوسِ قزح ہے۔ قدیم زمانے میں کمان جنگ کا ہتھیار بھی ہوتی تھی، لیکن اس مقام پر God کی طرف سے کمان کو بادل میں رکھنا امن، رحم اور وعدے کی علامت ہے۔
طوفانِ نوح کے واقعہ کے بعد God نے وعدہ کیا کہ وہ دوبارہ کبھی زمین پر ایسا سیلاب نہیں لائیں گے جو تمام جانداروں کو ختم کر دے۔ قوسِ قزح اسی وعدے کی نشانی مقرر کی گئی۔

اس آیت سے کئی اہم سبق حاصل ہوتے ہیں:
1. God اپنے وعدے پورے کرتے ہیں
نوح کے ساتھ کیا گیا عہد یہ سکھاتا ہے کہ God کے وعدے مضبوط اور قابلِ اعتماد ہوتے ہیں۔
2. مشکل کے بعد امید آتی ہے
طوفان کے بعد نئی زندگی کا آغاز ہوا۔ یہ ظاہر کرتا ہے کہ مشکلات کے بعد بھی God امید اور نئی راہیں فراہم کرتے ہیں۔
3. تمام مخلوقات کی قدر
چونکہ عہد میں تمام جاندار شامل ہیں، اس لیے انسان کو زمین اور مخلوقات کی حفاظت کی ذمہ داری کا احساس ہوتا ہے۔
4. ظاہری نشانی روحانی حقیقت کی یاد دلاتی ہے
قوسِ قزح ایک ایسی نشانی ہے جو انسان کو God کے رحم، محبت اور وعدے کی یاد دلاتی ہے۔
