Meaning of Genesis 27:2
Genesis 27:2 is a short verse, but it carries an important message about human life, uncertainty, family responsibility, and the importance of recognizing that the future is not known to us.
Isaac says, “Behold now, I am old.” He was acknowledging a reality that comes to every human being: life on earth has limits. Isaac had lived through many significant events. He had been the son of Abraham and Sarah, the husband of Rebekah, and the father of Esau and Jacob. Now, as an elderly man, he understood that he could not assume that he had many years remaining.

“I know not the day of my death.”
