Revelation Chapter 13 (Verses 13–18)

Revelation 13:13

Verse: And he doeth great wonders so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men

  • English Explanation: This verse describes the deceptive power of the False Prophet (the second beast). By performing spectacular signs, such as calling down fire from heaven, he mimics the true prophets of God (like Elijah) to validate his false authority and deceive humanity into idolatry.

  • Urdu Explanation (تفسیر): یہ آیت دوسرے جانور (جھوٹے نبی) کی گمراہ کن طاقت کو ظاہر کرتی ہے۔ وہ لوگوں کو دھوکہ دینے کے لیے بڑے معجزات دکھاتا ہے، جیسے کہ آسمان سے زمین پر آگ نازل کرنا (جیسے ایلیاہ نبی نے سچی طاقت سے کیا تھا)۔ اس کا مقصد انسانوں کو گمراہی میں ڈالنا اور اپنی جھوٹی نبوت کو سچا ثابت کرنا ہے۔

Revelation 13:14

Verse: And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast saying to them that dwell on the earth that they should make an image to the beast which had the wound by a sword and did live

  • English Explanation: Capitalizing on the awe generated by his false miracles, the False Prophet convinces the earth’s inhabitants to build an image or idol honoring the first beast (the political/antichrist power) that miraculously survived a fatal head wound.

  • Urdu Explanation (تفسیر): ان جھوٹے معجزات کے زور پر، یہ جھوٹا نبی زمین کے رہنے والوں کو گمراہ کرتا ہے اور انہیں حکم دیتا ہے کہ وہ پہلے جانور (مسیح مخالف طاقت) کا ایک بت بنائیں، جس کے سر پر تلوار کا مہلک زخم لگا تھا لیکن وہ پھر بھی زندہ بچ گیا۔ یہ کھلم کھلا بت پرستی کی ترغیب ہے۔

Revelation 13:15

Verse: And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast that the image of the beast should both speak and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed

  • English Explanation: The text indicates a terrifying level of supernatural deception: the False Prophet breathes an illusion of “life” into the idol, enabling it to speak and issue death decrees against anyone who refuses to worship it.

  • Urdu Explanation (تفسیر): اس آیت میں شیطانی طاقتوں کے عروج کو دکھایا گیا ہے۔ جھوٹے نبی کو یہ طاقت دی گئی کہ وہ جانور کے بت میں جان ڈال سکے (یا ایسا وہم پیدا کرے) تاکہ بت بولنے لگے۔ اور وہ یہ حکم جاری کرتا ہے کہ جو کوئی بھی اس بت کی پوجا نہیں کرے گا، اسے قتل کر دیا جائے گا۔

Revelation 13:16

Verse: And he causeth all both small and great rich and poor free and bond to receive a mark in their right hand or in their foreheads

  • English Explanation: Totalitarian control is introduced here. No distinction is made based on social, economic, or legal status; every human being is pressured to receive a allegiance mark on their right hand or forehead, symbolizing total submission in action and thought.

  • Urdu Explanation (تفسیر): یہاں سے مکمل معاشی اور سماجی کنٹرول شروع ہوتا ہے۔ امیر، غریب، چھوٹے، بڑے، آزاد اور غلام—سب کو مجبور کیا جاتا ہے کہ وہ اپنے دائیں ہاتھ یا ماتھے پر ایک نشان لیں۔ یہ نشان اس بات کی علامت ہے کہ وہ ذہنی اور عملی طور پر اس باطل طاقت کے تابع ہو چکے ہیں۔

Revelation 13:17

Verse: And that no man might buy or sell save he that had the mark or the name of the beast or the number of his name

  • English Explanation: This outlines the economic enforcement of the end-times system. Refusing the mark, name, or number of the beast results in total financial boycott, making regular survival, trade, and commerce legally impossible for believers.

  • Urdu Explanation (تفسیر): یہ نظام کا معاشی بائیکاٹ ہے۔ جس شخص کے پاس جانور کا نشان، اس کا نام یا اس کے نام کا عدد نہیں ہوگا، وہ نہ تو کچھ خرید سکے گا اور نہ ہی بیچ سکے گا۔ اس کا مقصد ایمان داروں کو بھوک اور معاشی تنگی کے ذریعے جھکنے پر مجبور کرنا ہے۔

Revelation 13:18

Verse: Here is wisdom Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast for it is the number of a man and his number is Six hundred threescore and six

  • English Explanation: This famous verse calls for spiritual discernment. The number 666 represents the ultimate imperfection and rebellion of man trying to elevate himself to divinity, falling perpetually short of divine perfection (represented by the number 7).

  • Urdu Explanation (تفسیر): یہاں دانشمندی اور روحانی سمجھ بوجھ کی دعوت دی گئی ہے۔ جانور کا عدد 666 (چھ سو چھیاسٹھ) ہے۔ یہ انسان کا عدد ہے جو خدا بننے کی ناکام کوشش کو ظاہر کرتا ہے۔ بائبل میں عدد 7 کاملیت کی علامت ہے، جبکہ 6 کاملیت سے دوری اور انسانی سرکشی کو ظاہر کرتا ہے۔

Revelation Chapter 14 (Verses 1–14)

Revelation 14:1

Verse: And I looked and lo a Lamb stood on the mount Sion and with him an hundred forty and four thousand having his Father’s name written in their foreheads

  • English Explanation: In stark contrast to the marked followers of the beast, John sees Christ (the Lamb) standing victoriously on Mount Zion. He is surrounded by the 144,000 saints, who bear the protective, holy mark of God’s own name on their foreheads.

  • Urdu Explanation (تفسیر): پچھلے باب کے برعکس، یہاں یوحنا ایک خوبصورت منظر دیکھتا ہے۔ برّہ (یسوع مسیح) کوہِ صیون پر کھڑا ہے، اور اس کے ساتھ 1 لاکھ 44 ہزار لوگ ہیں جن کے ماتھوں پر خدا کا نام لکھا ہوا ہے۔ یہ شیطانی نشان کے مقابلے میں خدا کی وفاداری اور حفاظت کی علامت ہے۔

Revelation 14:2

Verse: And I heard a voice from heaven as the voice of many waters and as the voice of a great thunder and I heard the voice of harpers harping with their harps

  • English Explanation: John hears a magnificent celestial sound. It possesses the immense volume of rushing waters and thunder, yet carries the beautiful, structured harmony of skilled musicians playing harps before God.

  • Urdu Explanation (تفسیر): یوحنا آسمان سے ایک عظیم آواز سنتا ہے جو کثرت کے پانی کے شور اور گرج کی طرح گونجتی ہے، لیکن ساتھ ہی وہ بربط نوازوں کی مدھر موسیقی کی طرح کانوں میں رس گھولتی ہے۔ یہ آسمانی دربار کی حمد و ثنا کی عظمت کو ظاہر کرتا ہے۔

Revelation 14:3

Verse: And they sung as it were a new song before the throne and before the four beasts and the elders and no man could learn that song but the hundred and forty and four thousand which were redeemed from the earth

  • English Explanation: A unique song of redemption is sung before the throne of God. Only the 144,000 can master it because it reflects their unique experiential victory over the trials, persecutions, and temptations of the earth.

  • Urdu Explanation (تفسیر): وہ تخت کے سامنے، چار جانداروں اور بزرگوں کے حضور ایک نیا گیت گاتے ہیں۔ یہ گیت صرف وہی 1 لاکھ 44 ہزار لوگ سیکھ سکتے ہیں جنہیں زمین پر سے فدیہ دے کر بچایا گیا۔ یہ گیت ان کے مخصوص ایمانداری کے تجربات اور فتوحات کا عکاس ہے۔

Revelation 14:4

Verse: These are they which were not defiled with women for they are virgins These are they which follow the Lamb whithersoever he goeth These were redeemed from among men being the firstfruits unto God and to the Lamb

  • English Explanation: The language here uses spiritual virginity to symbolize absolute moral and spiritual purity—they rejected the spiritual adultery of Babylon. They are fully devoted followers of Jesus, dedicated as holy “firstfruits” of the harvest of humanity.

  • Urdu Explanation (تفسیر): یہاں “کنوارے” ہونے کا مطلب روحانی پاکیزگی ہے، یعنی انہوں نے دنیا کی بت پرستی اور بابل کی بدکاری سے خود کو ناپاک نہیں کیا۔ یہ وہ وفادار لوگ ہیں جو برّے کے پیچھے پیچھے چلتے ہیں جہاں کہیں وہ جاتا ہے، اور یہ خدا اور برّے کے لیے پہلے پھل کے طور پر مخصوص کیے گئے ہیں۔

Revelation 14:5

Verse: And in their mouth was found no guile for they are without fault before the throne of God

  • English Explanation: These redeemed saints are characterized by complete truthfulness and integrity. Through the cleansing blood of Jesus and their unwavering faithfulness, they stand blameless and vindicated right before God’s judgment seat.

  • Urdu Explanation (تفسیر): ان کے منہ سے کبھی کوئی جھوٹ یا فریب نہیں نکلا۔ وہ خدا کے تخت کے سامنے بے عیب ٹھہرتے ہیں کیونکہ یسوع کے خون نے انہیں پاک کیا اور انہوں نے شدید آزمایشوں میں بھی سچائی کا دامن نہیں چھوڑا۔

Revelation 14:6

Verse: And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth and to every nation and kindred and tongue and people

  • English Explanation: The first of three angels appears, soaring across the sky to ensure that the timeless, unchanging gospel of Jesus Christ is announced directly to every single human being, breaking all geographic and cultural barriers.

  • Urdu Explanation (تفسیر): یوحنا ایک اور فرشتہ کو آسمان کے بیچ میں اڑتے ہوئے دیکھتا ہے۔ اس کے پاس زمین کے تمام رہنے والوں، ہر قوم، قبیلے، زبان اور امت کے لیے ابدی خوشخبری (انجیل) ہے تاکہ دنیا کا کوئی بھی شخص خدا کے پیغام سے محروم نہ رہے۔

Revelation 14:7

Verse: Saying with a loud voice Fear God and give glory to him for the hour of his judgment is come and worship him that made heaven and earth and the sea and the fountains of waters

  • English Explanation: The angel warns the earth that cosmic judgment has officially arrived. Humanity is called to abandon false idols and evolution-based systems, returning instead to the worship of Yahweh as the sovereign Creator of the universe.

  • Urdu Explanation (تفسیر): وہ فرشتہ بلند آواز سے کہتا ہے کہ خدا سے ڈرو اور اس کی تمجید کرو کیونکہ اس کی عدالت کا وقت آ پہنچا ہے۔ مخلوق کی پوجا چھوڑو اور صرف اسی کی عبادت کرو جس نے آسمان، زمین، سمندر اور پانی کے چشمے پیدا کیے۔ یہ خالق کی طرف رجوع کرنے کی آخری پکار ہے۔

Revelation 14:8

Verse: And there followed another angel saying Babylon is fallen is fallen that great city because she made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication

  • English Explanation: The second angel declares the total moral and structural collapse of “Babylon”—the corrupt global system of false religion, materialism, and political compromise that seduced the entire world into rebellion against God.

  • Urdu Explanation (تفسیر): دوسرا فرشتہ ہلاکت کی منادی کرتا ہے کہ “بابل گر پڑا!” بابل اس دنیا کے گمراہ کن، مادی اور جھوٹے مذہبی نظام کی علامت ہے جس نے تمام قوموں کو اپنی بدکاری اور عیاشی کی مے پلا کر خدا کا باغی بنا دیا تھا۔ اب اس کا زوال یقینی ہے۔

Revelation 14:9

Verse: And the third angel followed them saying with a loud voice If any man worship the beast and his image and receive his mark in his forehead or in his hand

  • English Explanation: The third angel delivers an explicit, final warning regarding the consequences of compromise. It targets anyone who yields to temporal pressure and consciously chooses to bow to the beast system or accept its mark.

  • Urdu Explanation (تفسیر): تیسرا فرشتہ ایک سخت اور آخری انتباہ دیتا ہے کہ اگر کوئی بھی شخص جانور اور اس کے بت کی پوجا کرے گا اور عارضی فائدے یا خوف کی وجہ سے اپنے ماتھے یا ہاتھ پر اس کا نشان قبول کرے گا، تو اس کا انجام ہولناک ہوگا۔

Revelation 14:10

Verse: The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels and in the presence of the Lamb

  • English Explanation: Those who accept the mark must face God’s undiluted (“without mixture”) holy wrath. This represents divine justice completely unmixed with mercy, resulting in eternal, agonizing separation characterized by fire and brimstone before Christ and His holy angels.

  • Urdu Explanation (تفسیر): ایسا شخص خدا کے غضب کی تیز مے پیئے گا جس میں رحم کی کوئی ملاوٹ نہیں ہوگی۔ اسے پاک فرشتوں اور برّے کے سامنے آگ اور گندھک کے عذاب سے تڑپایا جائے گا۔ یہ خدا کی کامل اور غیر سمجھوتہ شدہ عدالت کو ظاہر کرتا ہے۔

Revelation 14:11

Verse: And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever and they have no rest day nor night who worship the beast and his image and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name

  • English Explanation: This passage reinforces the permanent nature of eternal judgment. Unlike the temporal financial rest promised by the beast system, its followers will experience continuous, uninterrupted spiritual torment with no relief day or night.

  • Urdu Explanation (تفسیر): ان کے عذاب کا دھواں ابدالآباد اٹھتا رہے گا، اور جانور اور اس کے بت کی پوجا کرنے والوں اور اس کے نام کا نشان لینے والوں کو دن رات کبھی آرام نصیب نہیں ہوگا۔ یہ عارضی معاشی سکون کے بدلے ابدی بے چینی کا ہولناک سودا ہے۔

Revelation 14:12

Verse: Here is the patience of the saints here are they that keep the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus

  • English Explanation: This serves as a pastoral encouragement for believers during intense persecution. The saints are defined by two primary characteristics: their practical obedience to God’s law and their unwavering, protective faith in the person of Jesus Christ.

  • Urdu Explanation (تفسیر): یہ آیت مقدسوں کے لیے تسلی اور حوصلہ ہے کہ وہ مصیبت کے وقت ثابت قدم رہیں۔ سچے ایمان دار وہ ہیں جو ان کٹھن حالات میں بھی خدا کے احکام پر عمل کرتے ہیں اور یسوع پر اپنے ایمان پر مضبوطی سے قائم رہتے ہیں۔

Revelation 14:13

Verse: And I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me Write Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth Yea saith the Spirit that they may rest from their labours and their works do follow them

  • English Explanation: A voice from heaven promises a divine blessing for end-times martyrs. Though they may lose their physical lives under the beast’s tyrannical reign, death is redefined as entry into holy rest, where their faithful deeds are permanently remembered and rewarded.

  • Urdu Explanation (تفسیر): آسمان سے آواز یوحنا کو لکھنے کا حکم دیتی ہے کہ مبارک ہیں وہ جو خداوند میں مریتے ہیں۔ روح کہتا ہے کہ ہاں، وہ اپنی محنتوں سے آرام پائیں گے کیونکہ ان کے نیک اعمال ان کے ساتھ جاتے ہیں۔ یہ ظاہر کرتا ہے کہ ایمان کی خاطر جان دینا نقصان نہیں بلکہ ابدی نفع ہے۔

Revelation 14:14

Verse: And I looked and behold a white cloud and upon the cloud one sat like unto the Son of man having on his head a golden crown and in his hand a sharp sickle

  • English Explanation: The focus shifts dramatically to the Second Coming. Jesus Christ (“Son of man”) appears victoriously on a brilliant white cloud. Wearing a royal golden crown of victory, He holds a sharp sickle, ready to execute the final, sweeping harvest of the earth.

  • Urdu Explanation (تفسیر): یہاں منظر بدلت ہے اور یسوع مسیح (ابنِ آدم) کی دوسری آمد کی جھلک دکھائی دیتی ہے۔ وہ ایک سفید بادل پر بیٹھا ہے، اس کے سر پر فتح کا سنہرا تاج ہے اور ہاتھ میں ایک تیز درانتی ہے۔ یہ اس بات کی علامت ہے کہ اب زمین کی فصل پک چکی ہے اور وہ حتمی عدالت اور جزا و سزا کے لیے تیار ہے۔
